MEN'S SOCCER UPSETS NO. 10 UC IRVINE, 2-0

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Cousins Chris Bettencourt and Adam Bettencourt each scored for the Hornets as the Sacramento State men's soccer team knocked off No. 10 ranked UC Irvine, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon at Hornet Soccer Field. Sacramento State improves to 4-2-0 on the year while UC Irvine falls to 5-1-0.

The Anteaters, which entered the game undefeated, had not allowed a goal in their previous five games this season. The Hornets have now won four straight games and shutout their last three opponents - Stanford, Loyola Marymount and UC Irvine.

Seriously, though. The guys did a great job in beating who USED to be #10. Now maybe Sac will get some respect around here....
 
Was a weekend filled with Hornet upsets over ranked teams! This team is good. I expect another trip to the NCAA tournament this winter. Good Job Hornets!

Not that it will do any good given that these are all "minor" sports, but I'd appreciate it if you'd outline these upsets and post it over at FCSFans. Who knows? It MIGHT help....
