Men's Soccer Hosts NCAA Tournament Match!!!

Congrats to Coach Linenberger and the guys again. They get to host a freakin NCAA College Cup Match at home against Santa Clara!!! That is so awesome and much deserved respect!!! Winner gets ucla in the second round (just like last year when we upset LMU).

The Hornets won 2-1 and will advance to the second round to face UCLA for the second straight year. Great job! 8-)

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Chris Bettencourt scored with less than five minutes to play, propelling Sacramento State to a 2-1 victory over Santa Clara in the first round of the 2010 NCAA Men's Soccer Championships. The Hornets (11-4-7) advance to a second-round match at No. 8 seeded UCLA at 5 p.m. on Sunday.

I was at the game, and the crowd was big and the atmosphere was loud. It was a good match all around and both teams played clean soccer. I see the UCLA game being close, but it will be tough to win in LA.
 
Looks like there will be a bus to the UCLA game this weekend.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento State athletics department has announced a fan bus for supporters wishing to travel to the men's soccer NCAA tournament match at 5 p.m. on Sunday against UCLA in Los Angeles.

The bus will leave at 8 a.m. from outside Yosemite Hall. Fans can meet in the lobby of the basketball gym before hand. Tickets will cost $65, by cash or credit on Friday or cash only on Sunday. The bus will leave immediately after the match and return to campus. The capacity of the bus is 56 people so please act quickly and make a reservation. You can contact Adam C. Primas in the athletics department at 916-278-7551 or email at [email protected].

Tickets for the game at UCLA's Drake Stadium will cost $10 for adults or $8 for students and youth.

NOTE: Please make a reservation for the bus by 9 a.m. on Saturday. If not enough people sign up, the bus will be canceled.
