Mike Kramer - Ouch

id rather play nebraska over CSU too, who thought Colorado & Pitt (BCS) would lose to weak FCS teams? Point is, anybody can get beat, and I guarantee you if u ask the players which team they wanted to play, you'd probably get 65-35 saying Nebraska.

"It quotes the school's athletic director suggesting the football coach said his team was going to get beat either way, why not go someplace fun like Lincoln."

If there is even half a shade of truth to the AD spilling these kind of details about a private conversation with his head football coach, then really it's the AD who ought to be thrown under the bus. You simply don't offer up this kind of crap to the press. Either way, this shows Idaho State is a damn clown show.

Ok, granted it's written by a Nebraskan paper, but if the quotes and sentiments are accurate, just not very smart.

Shoddy journalism, but terrible quote by the AD. Lot of stupidity to go around. :dunce: :dunce: :dunce:

Colorado State was willing to pay only about half as much as Nebraska, but the Rams are in a down cycle and nowhere near the level of the Huskers.

Tingey said he was surprised when Kramer told him he wanted to play the Huskers and let his players experience Memorial Stadium and the history a program that has won five national championships.

"I said, 'Coach, are you kidding me? You want to go to Nebraska?'

"He said, 'Oh, yeah. We don't want to go to Fort Collins. That's boring. There's nothing fun about that. We're going to lose anyway, so let's go to a place with heritage and tradition like Nebraska.'"
