Why isn't the AD considering the Carroll College head coach? His career record there is 130-20, he's been an assistant in D-1 at Montana, Wyoming, Northwestern and UMass. He had a linebacker play for him for a year and then transfer to Boise State and start in the Fiesta Bowl vs. Oklahoma. And he doesn't have Kramer's dirty laundry and they are undefeated this year. He's also won like 5 national titles.

Didn't we try the Div. II coach thing once before? When was that?

Kramer is a proven coach in 1AA and has 4 Big Sky Championships, and built up two programs (Eastern Washington and Montana State). Why are people bagging on the hire?

big difference coaching at a school were the NCAA doesn't give a sh!t if your players are academically progressing or if they're even taking steroids. diest may be the apex predator in his conference, but this is a completely different ecosystem with lots of rules and a lot more competition.

Mike Van Diest isn't/wouldn't be an option. Aside from wanting him or not... he's king at Carroll. He makes more than the President of the school, and the President ok'd his pay raise. He's happy, things go his way; doubt he's going anywhere soon.

He's been an assistant in the shark infested waters. Carroll is a fairly rigorous academic institution. Dan Hawkins son in law played a year there and then started on the BSU team that beat Oklahoma. I think this guy has figured out how to lead and how to coach. With Z he won about 60% of his games at Central. That type of winning percentage got a couple of BSU hoops coaches canned.

I think D Tew went to Carroll for a year also.
