Monday Morning Quarterbacking (and other musings)

1. Glad they got a win, but it was much harder than it should have been. Weber needs to learn to play at a high level at ALL times. They tend to play to the level of their competition (see UNC and Sac State Games).

2. Way too many penalties - I realize this is a young team, but still need to learn to cut out the yellow hankies.
In the defense of the team, I thought the two personal fouls in the second half were not warranted (at least from my point of view). I watched the replays on the jumbotron and could not clearly see what the penalty was. It just looked like a hard hit and nothing cheap or illegal about it. Did I miss something?

3. The defense got a C grade for the first half and an A- for the second half. I got so tired of seeing the Aggie line push Weber around in the first half. I also got sick of the running back getting 5-7 yards each play. Glad to see this rectified in the second half with stopping the run and pressuring the QB.

4. Same for the offense - but I would give them a D for the first half and B+ for the second half. The coaches and players made some adjustments and they were much improved.

5. The crowd was decent. Still too quiet at times. I remember it was just 3 years ago that you had 6k show up for homecoming and that was a generous count.

6. The music at this game totally sucked! I complimented the music guy for the first home game, but this time the music totally sucked :!:

7. This team still has a long way to go, but I am beginning to see the making of a great team. When will they be able to put together a complete game? It better be this Saturday or it will be a long Saturday.

Go Cats!

I agree with just about all of that, and the reason the crowd was so quiet was because Weber didnt give anybody anything to cheer about till the 2nd half when we finaly found the endzone.
