Montana predictions

Montana is not stellar this year, unfortunately we arent either. This game is winnable, but I dont put a lot of faith in our offensive playcalling, or our defense coordinatorS.

Montana is at home, and we havent won in Missoula since 1987. This would be a nice delayed Birthday Present for me, but I believe I am going to get dissapointed.

It really sucks right now, scheduling 2 FBS games has really hurt us this year, we are 3-1 in conference, but we cannot lose another game and our schedule has just hit its hardest stretch with UM and MSU coming up :ohno:

I too share your pessimism, but heck life is too dang short to be a pessimist. So, I am going with Weber to win a squeaker:
WSU 28 UM 27

I'm optimistic for this team this weekend. Here are a list of reasons why I believe Weber is gonna upset Montana.
1. The reffing can't be worse than what it was at the SUU game. 2. We will be getting 8 guys back on special teams (the ones who were suspended one game, Mac said they mainly played on Spec. Teams). So there is no possible way Montana gets as good of starting field position as SUU got. 3. Montana did lose to Sac St, who we beat with relative ease. One of the biggest reasons Montana lost to Sac St is because Sac's QB ran for 59 yards and 2 TD's. They also had an RB with 100 yards and another with 66. Our running backs and running QB will give Montana D about all they can handle. 4. Montana has some terrible off field distractions this week, kinda like what we had last week with those suspensions. 6. Weber has beaten Montana 2 out of the last 3 regular season meetings. Weber has lost 3 very close games by a touchdown or less this year. This team is better than what the record indicates. They just need to focus and stop shooting themselves in the foot with stupid penalties and missed tackles.

But the biggest reason I believe Weber wins this weekend is because we need it more. Montana has 3 more games this season. They have 6 wins, so they really only need one more win and they are going to the playoffs. They play Weber, Western Oregon, and Montana State. DII Western Oregon should be an automatic win, which will all but lock a playoff seed for them. MSU is their biggest game of the season. So they could be overlooking WSU and Western Oregon for the Brawl of the wild. They really don't need a win this weekend. But Weber does. Weber is gonna be playing with a chip on their shoulders and hungry for this win.

I disagree, Montana needs this game just as much as we do, thier game vs Western Oregon does not count towards playoff eligibility. If they lose at home to us, then they MUST win at MSU to make the playoffs.

This is a very very VERY big game for both schools.

According to his Twitter posting Jon Opperud #74 is not playing this game due to appendectomy.
From eGriz:
I'm not going to post again, but if you go to google.com and type in 'Jon Opperud Twitter' you can read Jon's own words about the situation.

I have been to the mountain top and have consulted with the Ghosts of OgdenGodFather & Cheesus, and it has been made known to me that Weber State WILL WIN!!!
WSU 24
Da Bears 17

I'm feeling, surprisingly, confident about this game. I wouldn't be surprised if Weber comes home with a W. UM is under-rating our D. Our D isn't that bad. The USU game really makes us look worse than what we really are. Agaisnt FCS competition, we have done a above average job of stopping the run. I just hope our secondary can put together a good game and limit the passing offense; especially across the middle and coming out of the backfield. Our D is a hell of a lot better than they were last year. Also, our offense, if they get their shiz together, can move the ball on anybody. I'm thinking the Cats put together a full game and play 4 Qtrs to get the Victory!!

The Grizz have gotten lucky the last couple of weeks. They should have lost to both PSU and NAU. They have survived by getting big plays at opportune moments. Usually because the Defensive misses a tackle or doesn't play gap control. Their luck runs out this week.

Weber wins by 14.

I hate to say it but I think we will be blown out.
Have some faith Sir. I do not think WSU will get blown out. WSU has not been blown out in a conference game since Nov 11 2006 when WSU lost @ NAU 42-17
I really don't think this Montana team is good enough to blow out WSU, and I certainly don't think this WSU team is bad enough to get blown out either.
WSU 28
UM 24

Wildcats 31

UM 21

I would love to be proven wrong about the impact of the EWU loss. If some how Mcbride can pull the guys together for a Dub we can win out after Missoula.

My prediction: 25,000 drunk Grizz fans at "Occupy Washington Grizz" by Friday @ NOON. :protesst:

This is not much of a prediction. Doesn't this happen for every home game???
