For our trip to the Big Sky Country...

First up, a game tomorrow against Montana State at 6pm. The Bobcats, from Bozeman, MT (just a bit north of Yellowstone Park) come in to the game with a record of 4-8 overall and 1-1 in conference. They split their first week's conference games, beating Southern Utah (92-62) and losing to Northern Arizona (74-68), both on the road. Prior to starting conference play, they beat Washington State on a neutral court in Kennewick. They are led by Tyler Hall, a senior guard from Rock Island, IL and Harald Frey, a junior from Norway. They have no one from the Pacific Northwest.

The next game is Saturday at 6pm against Montana. The Grizzlies, favored to win the conference title, are currently 9-4 with a home game against Sacramento State before they play us. They have some good wins already (North Dakota State, South Dakota State) and some good losses (Creighton, Arizona). They are 2-0 in the conference with wins last week at both Northern Arizona and Southern Utah. They are loaded with explosive players including Michael Oguine, a senior from Los Angeles, CA, and Jamar Akoh from the LA area as well (Rancho Cucamonga, CA). They do have some players from the Pacific Northwest and they are some good ones. Donavan Dorsey from Lacey's Timberline High School, Freddie Brown who played for Brandon Roy at Nathan Hale High School in Seattle, Peter Jones from Seattle's O'Dea High School,Tony Miller from Woodinville, WA, Bobby Moorehead from Tacoma's Stadium High School and Ahmaad Rorie from Lincoln High School in Tacoma.

Games all on Pluto TV at both start at 6pm Pacific Time.

Men get a split but not the way one might have thought. After looking unorganized at Montana State, they head to Montana and break the Grizzlies home court winning streak, and looked really impressive doing it. Maybe they are starting to come around.

Final Thursday: Montana State 98, PSU 88
Final Saturday: PSU 77, Montana 74 (OT)

We won both games in ways unexpected. Still not sure just how good we are, but certainly we have potential.
