I like Weber's odds in this game. UM hasn't exactly played with confidence away from Dahlberg Arena, and they usually struggle in the smaller gyms. I'm thinking the keys to a Weber State victory center on how well our bigs play. At home against UM, Morris had a career evening. Weber really needs to limit Qvale and Selvigs touches if they want to succeed. I love it when Fulton and Ward face off. Fulton owns Ward.

Weber needs to play great paint defense, limit UM's ability to penetrate and get their own inside-out game going. Morris is the only center in the league who can match up with Qvale.

If you use history as a judge, this game will be close. They pumelled us at their place and we did the same to them at our place. Now we are on a nutral floor. If we get the same refs we just had, Morris and Qvale will both foul out in the first half(if they are at least consistant). That leaves Selvig as the big question mark. The guard play is slightly in our favor. To me, the key is mixing up the D on Selvig and not letting him get comfortable on the wing or at the top of the key. To do that, the guards have to be mindfull of when to double and when not to.

Weber needs to play a match-up zone force UM to hit their outside shoots. Selvig is their most dangerous outside shooter, if we can bottle him up like we did at the Dee, I'm thinking Weber wins. I'm not worried about Cherry.

I think it all depends on how well our bigs play. If Fulton and Morris can stay out of foul trouble, we should be okay. As for Mahoney, he can afford to be aggressive on the defensive game. I expect some good hard defense and some good hard (within the limits of the game) fouls. Man, I love that kid.
