Montana's schedule

Their road schedule is hellacious. They will probably lose to Wyoming and NDSU and even the games against Central Washington and South Dakota are no gimmies. I don't see more than seven or eight wins here.

at Wyoming
vs Central Washington
vs South Dakota
at North Dakota State
vs Northern Colorado
at North Dakota
vs UC Davis
at Cal Poly
vs Sacramento State
at Eastern Washington
at Southern Utah
vs Montana State

at Wyoming L
vs Central Washington W
vs South DakotaW
at North Dakota State L
vs Northern Colorado W
at North Dakota W
vs UC Davis W
at Cal Poly L
vs Sacramento State L
at Eastern Washington L
at Southern Utah W
vs Montana State W

I don't think the Griz make it to playoffs this year. No hate about it, I just think they are going to have a season similar to our 2011, which is the most disappointing kind of season. Lots of talent in skill positions, but offensive line swatted down like flies.

I posted something similar on AGS about their first three games. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt in the Sac State and MSU games since they're playing at home, although I can easily see those as being a "PUSH":

Eight wins, tops. :coffee:

8-4 is a safe bet, but splitting with NDSU and Poly is realistic and 10-2 isn't that far fetched.

Personally, I hope they're 8-1 rolling into Cheney.

I could also see UC Davis being a push. They have high potential to be the Big Sky dark horse.

UM is going to flounder this year. Too many hits to the OL, and not having Henderson for a while is going to hurt. I will be surprised if they make the playoffs, even with JJ. If there is a team to be worried about that people are overlooking it is MSU. If you have been paying attention and doing your research you would know that they are stacked. Definitely a reload year rather than a rebuild. They will be our toughest FCS game, mark my words.

I am more concerned about MSU than UM, and the game is in Bozeman which is never an easy one for us, despite our record against the Bobcats. The 2012 game we would have lost if not for some late game heroics by Zysltra, Day, and Tonani.

Biggest ? for the Bobcats I think is they're starting a new QB. I'll come back after I watch a game or two of theirs before I label them our toughest FCS matchup, however.

Research? Homers saying their teams are good doesn't mean jack. I am going to go ahead and underestimate them until they prove otherwise. I think the Cats will be very mediocre this year.

That's a tough schedule and it's pretty rare that they play an FBS school and a top level FCS school in the same year as they have always benefitted from weak non-conference schedules and games at home in the playoffs. Since we've knocked them out of getting the autobid the past several years they haven't had that benefit. Looking at this schedule I don't see more than seven or eight wins. The games against Sac State, UC Davis, Cal Poly, and MSU could go either way. I don't see them beating us at home.

I hope you're right but know you're wrong. As for their QB... http://vimeo.com/32048121" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

unless they have another 2012 type melt down they should be good enough to make the playoffs with that schedule. How many really good teams do you think there really are in the big sky this year outside of EWU and maybe MSU?

Prukop should be a good QB for them but I'd be willing to bet we have two QB's on our roster not named Adams that are just as good, if not better.

High school highlights are high school highlights. You really have to take them with a grain of salt. Need an example? Remember how terribly the NAU QB played during playoffs last year? He had a whopping QB rating of 110.1

Lol, I'm not talking about the cat tards over at bobcat nation. I'm talking about reading media articles, colter nuanez, highlight videos, etc. Do I think they will beat us this year? HELL NO. Will they be back in power again this year? I would bet yes, but only time will tell.

True true, but you can't help but be intrigued. And you know that he has only gotten faster and stronger over the past 3 years, and I'm hearing he won the QB job for a reason...

Colter Nuanez is also a homer. There are no highlight videos, because they haven't played a game in 2014.

He won a close battle with another quarterback. Do you think that after graduating their all star quarterback, Montana State has had two more all star quarterbacks on their roster that nobody knew about? The only information we have is homer vision. Quarterbacks do not make the team. They lost their winningmost senior class in the history of their program. They will have to prove they are legit on the field, but for now they are mediocre in my eyes. :coffee:

I saw the title of this thread, the 16 posts and got really excited that it was a beat up on griz thread. Very disappointed :ohno:

All seriousness, the only thing "hellacious" about this is that Montana typically schedules so light. There isn't a game on that schedule where we'd be more than a TD underdog. For Eastern, this would be a normal schedule.

Compare their non-con to our's and it's split pretty evenly. Our best opponent (UW) is better than their best (North Dakota State). Their second best, Wyoming, is probably better than our second-best Montana State. I think our third best, Sam Houston, is a lot better than South Dakota. Lastly, their game against Central is a bit tougher than Western Montana. Therefore, it's fairly evenly split.

I hope he completely reworked his footwork and throwing motion because both are atrocious in that video. If those are his highlights, then his lowlights video must be pretty bad.
