Basically our entire offensive line and entire Linebacker core is injured. I hope Zach redshirts, he is fun to watch and would love to have one more healthy year out of him.

Had no clue about Kaufman, that really sucks, I wonder if there is any chance he can have a medical redshirt? Last year he played most of the year with a separated shoulder from the Montana game if I recall correct? but a broken hand for a WR? yikes

You never want to buy into excuses for your team, but Eastern has been decimated by injuries this year, especially the last 2 weeks and that has played a major role in both games.

Jesus, so who are our starting guards and Center this weekend? I've been following Eastern football for a long time, and I think the last time we had this many injuries was the horrid year we had back in '95 if I remember correctly. I agree about moving Ena to LB, at least for the time being. We seem to have a lot of depth at DE already, and we need LB's. What is the status on the injury to McCarthy and is he going to be RSing or not?

marceagfan5,
Thanks for the compliment, this game for me is about 50 years late, when it comes to suiting up. ;)
At the Coaches Show last night at Northern Quest, I couldn't believe the Injury Report from Coach Baldwin.
Tyler Washburg had surgery last year, and now another injury. Zach Johnson, sat out a year with Blood Clot. now another injury causing him to miss another year. Brandon Kaufman broken hand. Chris Powers, gone down, he had surgery earlier this year on his shoulder, granted it wasn't a bad injury, still an injury. What else could go wrong? Reference to WR, if Kaufman does not play, we have two outstanding WR in the wings. Nick Leonue, from G-Prep, I have seen him at practices, he has some great hands. Todd Rhaynes, also another great looking WR. Both of these two young men came in this year.

I spoke to Zach earlier, to see if he was going to attempt to get another year, he wasn't sure. It is going to be hard to see Zach not on the field playing. Where ever on the field, his brother Matt would make a tackle, Zach was always in the mix with him. Chris Powers, Kaufman, Washburn It will be very hard to replace those Players, Coach will put the pieces together. This is going to be another rough game for us. I will be there rooting them on. p.s. didn't see what happened to the Cheer Lady, all of a sudden she showed up with a bandaged leg. Maybe she tried to make a sideling tackle? ;) Sorry for her injury. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Bobby Gentry has a torn bi-cept.
Washburn twisted his knee but is fine.
McCarthy played last week and made 5 tackles

I would like to caution everyone regarding posting information Coach Baldwin gives those in attendance at the weekly Coaches radio program. I'm talking about items Beau may tell you before the radio program begins, whether it's in the film session or the question-and-answer period. Some of that stuff is meant for your ears only, kind of a bonus for caring enough or taking time to show up, rather than for everyone (including upcoming opponents) to read on the internet.

My rule of thumb is to look at the depth chart and see who is listed as being hurt. If someone is listed as injured, then we can talk about them. You don't have that luxury, so I would say that if you are told someone is going to try to play with an injury, especially if they didn't leave the field with that injury the previous week, then that is information not everyone needs to know. In other words, writing about Johnson or Powers is fine but some of the others should be kept under your hat.

For the record, Powers has an injury to his PCL (knee ligament) and is likely out two or three weeks. Butorac is probably done for the year with his knee injury. From the depth chart, Patrick Mealey is the center with true freshman Jordan Ellisen listed as his backup. Drew Reynolds or Caleb Worthington and Brandon Murphy are the guards with Ashton Boothroyd (moved from the DL) and newcomer walk-on Derek Weston new to the depth chart. Grant Williams is listed as the starter at WLB, but Coach Baldwin said on our show last night that Bobby Gentry is going to try to play this week. J.C. Agen is listed as the backup there. Beau also confirmed on the show that Zach will petition the NCAA to get his 6th year of eligibility and return for 2012.

FWIW, Zach Johnson officially labeled "out for season" with a patella tendon tear.

The only upside is that this didn't happen a week from now, so hopefully he can get his extra year. Sometimes you can look at the bright side of this thing and realize and extra schollie year ensures you complete school or get well on your way to a master's degree.

Also FWIW, our cheerleader was injured doing backflips as the team emerged onto the field before the game. I'll give her a lot of credit because she tried like hell to get up and even scooted on her backside to the training staff who helped her off the field.

Unfortunately, it was sort of an omen for bad luck on the field.

One other odd thing of note, did anyone notice our band during the game on Saturday? They took the field and played the fight song, but other than that didn't seem to play at all except at halftime. It seemed like the only music was that which was piped in. And even that was the same damn song over and over. Yes, my hands went up and they stayed there. It got tired after the third time.

Noticed it too.

FWIW, I yelled my back side off on Saturday, came out of it horse, and I'm now nursing a sore throat/cold.

Kalm: Questionable for yelling Saturday, game time decision.

I noticed Swoop had to go into the locker room before game time...I think he got over heated in the outfit. He came out about 20 minutes later. I also wonder about wearing the black uni's on such a hot day.

I was shocked to see the Eagles come out in all black on such a hot day!

I thought the BSC forbade them from wearing all red?

Just heard from a player that Chris Powers ' MRI came back today with "only" a slight tear to the PCL. Definetly out for Weber but stands a good chance to be back at Center for NAU. Between rehab this week and a brace for games it was good to hear the All-American will be back in action soon ! Just need to get this WSU game in the win column to gain some confidence, ya think they might "overlook" us ? haha GOEAGS!

It's a bummer he went down, because he seemed to be really playing well against MSU after struggling a bit early in the season. Fro as beat up as our OL is, they all did a yeoman's job on Saturday against a decent Montana State DL. There were some sacks, but I don't think any of the sacks were the result of a four man line--- they only made sacks when they brought pressure and we couldn't find our checks.
