Wow. I hate seeing this kinda thing happen no matter who it happens to.
I never want to see anyone bail on their team in season. That’s not the way it should be done.
This kinda thing isn’t good for anybody. It really isn’t.
The kid involved might end up in a better situation eventually, but quitting on his current team in season hurts him in multiple ways.
I didn’t like that Elijah Dotson did it either. However a notable difference was retaining a year of eligibility. And it didn’t occur in the midst of the playoffs.

That said, the sad reality is someone will pick the kid up. If they believe his talent can help their team. And they’ll want to get the jump on others.
Unfortunately that’s why these kids get away with this behavior nowadays. The consequences tend to be minor.
But they sure aren’t learning anything worthwhile when the bad behavior is rewarded.

Awfully harsh judgements from people who have absolutely no idea why this young man has stepped away from the program.
