MSU Week

Tough one yesterday. You probably felt like I did after the Griz lost to Cal Poly.....we had it, we should have won, we shot ourselves in the foot. Not a great feeling. Good news is Big Sky is wide open IMO.

A lot of comments on here about the Cats game being tough and some folks are worried. I watched the Cats play d2 Fort Lewis and they did not look good....at all. There are a number of variables that could have come into play (tough to get up for that game, new players and positions trying to mesh, new team chemistry, etc), but they looked pretty awful. They were up 7-0 is all late in the first half just and scored just prior to halftime to make it 14-0. It was a 14-7 game at one point in the 3rd quarter. The cats offense looked anemic with lots of 3 and outs.

If the cats team that played that night show up on your turf, your team will destroy them, even with all the injuries. If a much improved cats team shows up, it may be a better battle but I still think you have a better team. The cats will go as far as Prukop can take them. If he is off, like he was with Fort Lewis, they are in trouble. The Cats defense is not very good again either, regardless of their wishful hoping that it is. I feel West or Hennesey (if he's okay) will be able to pick their secondary apart. Having Kupp always helps. Hope he's healthy. That dude is a beast and could easily be a Pac 10 receiver.

On the same end, I think if Dakota finds s rhythm he has the ability to pick apart the EWU secondary as well. And then he can run like a gazelle. A darn good player indeed. Should be a good battle but I'm gonna say EWU wins by 10. Good luck and here's to no more injuries.

Basically a BYE week for us, one of the few certain things in life is that EWU will beat MSU in football...

Heck, are record all time against MSU is better than the Griz against MSU.

In reality, it should be a good game, two good teams and Eastern will be hungry for a win...

The one good thing about a must-win game like this is that our backs are against the wall. We're 0-2 and I'm sure the team is feeling desperate for a win. I thought our intensity was lacking on Saturday, but I cant imagine itll be lacking this weekend.

And yeah, beating MSU is just what we do around Cheney...

The critical question to be answered is how many guys can we get back? We need to collectively toughen up as injuries seem to decimate us every year. Once or twice in a row, you can blame it on circumstance. Every year like clockwork seems to underscore a problem. Im sure this is being discussed and guys are sorting themselves out to come back strong on Saturday!
