Can our Big Sky #1 defense get us to the title game?

The team led the Big Sky in scoring defense (65.8 points). Davis and Valeika were 2nd and 3rd in blocks.

WSU hasn't had any good shot blockers that ranked in the top 10 in over ten years.

Standard Examiner:

"Now anybody can win the league," said WSU senior Arturas Valeika. "Everybody's 0-0 and it doesn't matter what place you're in. If you have three good nights you're in the NCAA tournament."

"The whole key is to come out aggressive and attack the game," Rahe said. "This time of year it comes down to that and the team that defends the best and rebounds the best will win the game."

MSU hasn't won a Big Sky tournament game since 1999.

Deseret News:

Still, as the Wildcats prepare for tonight's first-round game against Montana State, which tips off at 7:05 p.m. before what is expected to be a large crowd at the Dee Events Center, Rahe was full of compliments. And it didn't seem like typical coachspeak, either.

Actually getting it won't be easy.

"If we're going to be successful in this tournament we have to be the more aggressive team," Rahe said. "The more aggressive team is the team that

Congrats on the win! MSU is lucky they made that last push, I thought it was going to get real ugly after awhile. Good luck against NAU!

It was a great game, what a tough defensive start, 17 min until MSU got in double digits scoring and that dunk by D-Will was a sweet way to start the game off. Bring on the 'Jacks

The Cats played a great game and it was never in question. It was a very athletic performance and should get the team ready for Portland. The only negative was the sparse crowd. I know it is spring break but those who missed the game missed a great one!

I do agree those that missed the game, definitely missed out. I have only missed two games all season, and that is something that I am proud of. I was glad to see the seniors play one more time here at the Dee Event Center. I am huge Brody fan. He played great tonight. I want them to take that momentum against NAU.
