Damian Lillard is this season's Big Sky Player of the Year.

Catcat will post a link eventually.

Will Cherry is the Defensive Player of the Year
Collin Chiverton is the Newcomer of the Year

Bam is great - but did you notice that the Big Sky PDF release lists him as coming from Albuquerque, NEW YORK
The challenge for the Big Sky is all the great guards. Not too deep with great big men, but a lot of great guards and so somebody has to get the short end of the stick this year. Could have gone to Scotty, but there is always next year, right?

i believe their is no rule or policy that says big men have to be first teamers. it is not a first teamer per position. it isnt even 5 players.

They simply go by the top six vote-getters. All six could be of the same position if they get the votes. However, I'm shocked as hell that Colimon got the 1st-team nod over Bamforth. Strange indeed...

I'm not entirely sure. That's just how it's been as long as I can remember. Perhaps its just to hard to narrow it down to only five.

Congrats to Damian, obviously very well deserved. He was fantastic all year long.

I'm surprised that Colimon made it first team over Grabau and Bamforth but not shocked. Bamforth struggled a bit this year compared to last year... 3 point shooting was way done, as was his assist rate. No doubt he is still excellent and should be a first-teamer next year, but not unreasonable that Colimon would get the nod.

His stat line took a hit, not so much from poor production, but simply from moving from the 1 guard to the 2 guard spot. With Dame out last season, the ball was in Scotty's hands a lot more at the point. I suppose that's probably part of it.

If Dame leaves for the NBA this year, will Scotty be back at the PG next Fall? From what I can see, the Wizard isn't trying to sign a PG type guard this spring, but is looking more for a wing. Not that I'm worried, Bam and J-Rich both could play the PG next fall. Heavens, even Wheels or if we get him, Sobey could play it. Granted, after Dame, Scotty B would by far be the best candidate to replace him. Next year, the Cats will need a lot more production out of J-Rich. He has the potential. I have a feeling he will be a lot like Chris Woods. Solid role player off the bench as a Fresh and Soph and then all conference candidate as an upper-classman.

There is a reason Wheelwright has taken all of Richardson's minutes as of late. He is the PG of the future. Scotty will stay at the 2, Wheelwright is the best option at 1 by far next year. I imagine Richardson coming off the bench next season.
