Hi all,

Just wanted to send out a link to my preview of the Big Sky. 9K+ words featuring my predictions for the regular season and tournament, my all-conference teams, first through sixth, top newcomers, some bold predictions for the conference and more!

I would love it if you would check it out! http://www.bigskybball.com/2012/11/the-most-comprehensive-big-sky-preview.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks a bunch and please let me know of any feedback!!

Awesome read jon, I really enjoyed it, lets just hope your Championship game ends a little differently.

Wow Jon, what a great job. I'll have to read it more carefully when I have more time -- it is a major work.

Just two quick comments. I think you are right on the nose about Bill Evans and Montana. They will miss him badly. Not sure that Tinkle can cover up for losing a good coach like Evans. Montana took a big step up when Evans was added to their staff. We'll see if they now take a step back. I'm also very interested to see how Evans does at ISU. Great choice by the Bengals.

Loved your Mahoney Award. I thought his absence was very apparent in last nights game. We will obviously miss Lillard the most, but we could sure use another Mahoney for interior defense and rebounding. I loved Mahoney! He deserves to have somebody name an award after him.

Think you need to give Royce some love haha. that dude can flat out play and i think he is gonna be a very nice addition to our team for the next 3 years

Jon, thank you for the extensive article and recaps on all the teams. Your comments about Weber and the depth of their bench is something not many other analysts have commented about, and it could be huge as the season continues.

Excellent work!....and great pick on who finishes #1! I think you got the conference final result turned around though.

Yes. Nice work, Jon. The Big Sky is growing in size and strength. There will be a time, and soon I hope, that we get two bids into the dance. We need to keep building our fan base, building our schedules, building facilities, building trust, and continue our steady growth. :rockon:

While I love your optimism, I just don't see the Big Sky EVER being a 2 bid conference. Not saying it shouldn't, I'm just saying it won't.

Great preview! Nice to have someone write this up who has real knowledge and has done their research about the league. I would like to hope that Weber could finally get one over Montana in a Championship game at the Dee. Wishing for another great year of Wildcat Basketball!

Excellent analysis and I agree with you. As much as I wanted to disagree about your conclusion about the Big Sky tournament, I found I could not. Until Rahe learns to coach in a big time game, Weber will end up staying home.

Right on...Coach Tinkle has outcoached Rahe the last two years in tournament matchups...leaving the Wildcats to play in one of the "No Interest" or College "Consolation" tournaments where they get beat by a quality opponent. No national respect for that kind of results, for the Cats & Big Sky. :-(
