My Hornets Nest Experience

sac is in desperate need of a new facility which we all know but after going there i can imagine the recruiting visits and how it was be really hard to get players.

it was a fun game. we had a good section, jrich, tresnak and hajek all had family there. since dame stayed in ogden i dont think he had any family there. adding mook and dame next year i wonder if we will have half the stadium full. ha ha

i was glad to watch a good close game though im sure most of you would have preferred a beatdown by 20. had i never been to a big sky game i would be complaining about the officiating the last bit of the game but in all the years i have seen big sky ball i didn't even raise an eye brow. ;)

unlike the basketball venue the football facilies were really nice for fcs. the new upgrades they got this past year looked way nice and the new turf was awesome. i cant wait to see our new field.

my only beef with sac was i brought a wsu flag and was waving it on the pole attached and 5 min into the game an usher threatened to confiscate it if i kept waiving it. artificial noise makers are legal in pocatello but u can't even wave a flag in the nest.

Catcat, great meeting you and the wife. Keep cheering on the "Cats. It was great watching the countdown as MT and EWU went to OT< then EWU pulled the win.

One thing the Hornets nest has going for it, is when its full and the fans are in the game, its a loud atmosphere, there is nowhere for the sound to escape to and the noise just sits on top of the players, I could tell that from watching from BSTV last night that the fans where into the game towards the end.

Heck, every high school gym in Utah would be an upgrade for CSUS. They should change its name to "The Hornets Hole". Nest is too high of a ranking. :kisswink:

I don't even mean it as disrespectful to Sac and their program. I am mad for them that their administration and community would allow for that building to be what they have to work with. Coincidence that once they made a decent investment in their football facilities that their team improved?
