Granted it isn't what the team or the fans wanted, but I'm grateful that we, the fans, have another chance to watch D-Will and McCoy play in Purple and White. I was just on the Nitology site and they have an early bracket up. I don't think the guy who runs it really knows to much about Weber State (he probably thinks Weber is in the South or the East or something) because he has Weber playing at South Carolina. I surely hope the tourny is regionalized. Every other bracket has been regionalized except for Weber State and Vanderbilt (also in the NIT conference teams have played each other in the first rounds before, so it wouldn't be unheard of to see Vandy play at South Carolina, Auburn, or Florida. Currently, Vandy is playing at Saint Mary's). I'm sure, hopefully, that this wont be the final bracket, and that Weber will end up playing closer to home.

okay I was really wrong with my first post.... Conference rivals cannot play each other in the first round, also, the committee really tried to make sure that regular season games are not repeated in the first round. http://www.nit.org/about-nit/selection-procedures.html this is a link detailing all the procedures for selection and seeding.

For those of you who are not aware of this...The NCAA owns and administers the NIT, so NCAA Regionalization will by applied for the NIT. The guy who administers the Nitology site is from the South, and has a huge bias towards SEC teams. Weber is ranked higher and has a higher RPI than a number of the teams and so has a shot at getting a better seeding and playing at a venue close to Ogden.

Any chance of hosting a 1st round game? Wishful thinking but I would love another game at the Dee.

with our record you would think we would

If it was based on records our football team would have been hosting 2 rounds. I am sure the fact we didn't have a great turnout for the conference semi-finals and only averaged +4500 fans per game will play a bigger part than we want it to. There are going to be some big named schools in the NIT this year.

UPDATE: According to Lunardi, San Diego State and St. Mary's will both be left out of the NCAA Tourny (Gee, do we really need 7 Big Ten, ACC, and Big East teams in the Big Dance??? Ridiculous!! Lunardi is an idiot.) Anyway, I could see Weber being a 6, 7, or 8 seed playing a number of teams: UNLV, Arizona, San Diego State, St. Mary's, or New Mexico (I hope not). Of course the game could be either on Tues or Weds.

Also, for all those who are Utah fans: Lunardi has Utah State playing in Greensboro, Utah in Minneapolis (Portland State is slated to be there to), and BYU in Kansas City... I know, WHAT...none in Portland or Boise.
