National Championship tickets

I saw a facebook link from the NCAA that said tickets are on sale but it 404'd me when I clicked on it...

Anyone considering buying tickets soon? I know there is a whole lot of football to be played, but I'm sure NDSU fans will surmount a massive Frisco land-grab as soon as they can. I missed 2010 and I've been kicking myself for four years.

I saw that too, and am actually considering getting one as this will be the first year since 2010 that I'd actually be able to go (physically).

Just took a look at my ticket from the 2010 championship game. $40. If they're still in that range, I'd buy a few now. That said, I don't think you'd have a lot of trouble finding one in December IF we happen to make it back to Frisco. I'd be more concerned about a hotel room. I got on it the day after the Nova game and had only a couple options in Frisco. We ended up staying in Dallas which wasn't bad at all, but added a 20 minute drive each way. Great problem to have.

If you plan to go make the hotel reservation. You can always cancel.

I also saw this and sent an email to EWU asking if this would be the only way to get tickets. They told me that EWU would have a block of tickets for us (not sue if that is just for season ticket holders/EAF).

We (family of 6) also went in 2010 and wouldn't have missed it for the world! One caveat though, I'm not sure we can totally rely on our experience from that year as it is my understanding that NDSU fans routinely buy up all of the non-school allocated tickets as soon as they become available (as early as August). For the last three years this practice of gambling on their team reaching the Natty has served them well and ensured a virtual home field advantage. The state of North Dakota empties out and caravans down to Texas!

In other words, if we were to make it there again AND our opponent were any other team but the Bizon, we could probably count on getting tickets (either from the school allotment or from a disappointed NDSU fan). On the other hand if they also make it, and you are not a season ticket holder or EAA member then things could get dicey.

Doesn't have anything to do with season ticket holders. It's an allotment that the school is provided to sell through their ticket department. Every school gets the same allotment.

man, I have been thinking about pulling the trigger on this in the event we can actually get to frisco this year. If we don't, I guess I could offload them pretty easily.

Yep, the allotment was about 3,000 tickets per school. If memory serves, the EWU ticket office gave priority to season ticket holders and EAA members first and then opened it up to general EWU fan sales. Back in 2010 there were less people in both categories than there are now. Further, we were playing Delaware who's fan base didn't snap up all the non-school allotment tickets so even if you didn't get one a school allotment ticket it wasn't much of a scramble to get one. Not sure that's the case anymore.

Based on statements by Ken Halpin asst. AD, EAF members (money talks) will have preference, second will be season ticket holders and I don't know after that.
