Congrats to the NAU men's cross country team as they placed 4th in the Nation today in Indiana. Congrats to David McNeill and Jordan Chipangama for being the 2nd and 5th best runners in the NATION this season. It's is a huge deal for a small school like NAU from a conferance like the Big Sky to defeat every team in the nation except 3. NAU did all this without Diego Estrada, their 3rd best runner who was not able to compete because of illness. Had Estrada competed, NAU would have most likely have won the national championship as Estrada's times and performances this season are identical to teamate Jordan Chipangama who placed 5th overall. What an accomplishment for NAU!!

Thanks for the scoop.

No argument that those three programs set the standard for their sport in-league.

Oh....and congratulations as well to the Lumberjacks cross country program. The fact that a small school tucked away in the mountains and two hours away from a major metropolitan area is able to compete with big name programs speaks volumes from the coaching staff, quality of athlete recruited and work ethic involved in training. I'm pretty sure the altitude helps a bit as well.

One college regret here - I never attended a cross country meet. There's a down-the-road goal.

Go Jacks.

Well Mt. Jack, nothing beats the live action of any sport, but here is the video of cross country nationals:

Part 2- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeHpciqtFBs&feature=related
Part 3- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bXizWFx5KM&feature=related

Our guys are all in navy blue. David McNeill stays in second for most of the race. The total length of the videos is about 35 minutes, so if you have the time, enjoy 8)

Awesome. I'll give those cross country clips a whirl later on tonight. If I'm still working in-state next fall then a cross country meet in Flagstaff is on my to-do list.
