I am very happy the Vikings came through in the clutch against Sac State. But I still cannot understand what the management is trying to do. I do not mean to say that the coaches aren't doing a bang-up job in the whole scheme of things but sometimes I just don't see any logic in their substitutions.
Why does a player play very well in a game and then not play in the next? Or in the next two or three. Why does a player who is having a terrible game, continue to play on a team with the Viking's depth? Jordan had terrible games. Everyone does. Try someone else and if they are playing well, let them play.
Do the non-starting posts have a clue when they will play? On Thursday Creamer played 6 minutes. Wade played 11. Cremer had 2 blocks, 2 rebounds and was 2 of 2 from the field in her brief time on the court. Wade, whose last real playing time was against OSU, had 2 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 assists. She stopped opposing post players from catching the ball in the paint and helped out on defense. Yankus played 4 minutes.
Against Sac State, Cremer had her best game since scoring 19 or 20 a few games back. Although she shot 2-7, she had 4 blocks, 2 steals and 4 rebounds in 13 minutes. Wade played 15 seconds. Yankus didn't play.
Just for fun, I would like to see PSU try a lineup of KK, KV, CF, KDP, CC or KW. It would at least look good on paper.
