NAU beats ASU !

69-68, in Tempe. NAU had the lead a few times, but mostly was within 5-6 points all game. Staldivar had a big game, and Gabe Rogers returned from having shoulder surgery.

There definitely is a different attitude shown by the players with interim coach 70 yr old Dave Brown. The announcers were mentioning his approach is a lot more positive than the previous coach.

Big win for the Big Sky!

I attended this game. NAU looked good. Granted that ASU is a lower tier PAC-12 team this year... Still a big win for NAU and the Big Sky.

NAU stayed with the Sun Devils the whole game and made some clutch shots down the stretch. Saldivar was on fire the whole game and he hit the game-winning 3 on a contested shot with .8 seconds left in the game.

I was listening to the post game show on the way home and ASU's Coach Sendek mentioned that the difference in the game was NAU's guard line dominated the game. ASU shot 56% to NAU's 46% but NAU was still able to pull it out.

I haven't seen NAU play any other games this year but am surprised by their record by how they looked tonight. So they must have had some kind of turn around in play with the interim coach.

That provided some salve for an otherwise bummer of a start to the NAU basketball season.

ASU may not be the cream of the Pac-12 crop but a win over the Pac is still a win. One of these years it's happen in Tucson also.

Only negative is ASU will now dodge scheduling NAU in basketball for five years like they did last time NAU beat em in Tempe.

The Jacks aren't dead yet.

Good for the jacks.....

Also good to hear Rogers is back..

This win changes things for them I think they can place 4-5 in conference & Douglas looks to be pretty tough for a freshman.

Great win by the Jacks!! Douglas, Salvidar, and Rogers is a solid backcourt. Gotta admit though, this win could be, almost, attributed to Rogers return. Makes the Jacks so much more dangerous.
