NAU @ PSU - Guess the score

Many a time in my years as an NAU fan has a big win (i.e. last weekend in Bozeman vs. MSU) been followed by a big loss the following weekend. This years team seems to have the focus thing down but college football/sports in general is a funny thing. It's played by 17-23 year olds who quite often get overconfident. Anything can happen and no game is a guarantee.

The Vikings seem to be maligned this season. Up 14-0 to start against Montana then done in by 4 turnovers. Back and forth in a scrap against Weber State. Beat up at home by Sac State. But I see quite a lot of talent. A quick lookover of PSU's team stats shows your passing game is putting up yardage but your point output doesn't seem as prolific as in the past.

At home after PSU's first conference road win. A bit of momentum. I've been predicting close games all season for NAU and they've only had one game that was over before the 4th quarter came around (vs. U of Arizona). I predict a barn burner with NAU's pass defense getting a serious challenge but putting up a lot of yardage and points.

Lumberjacks 37
Vikings 35

Won't be the least bit surprised if the Vikings pull off a win, though.

Hope to make it up there one day to catch a Vikings football game. Love the town of Portland and I'm jonesing to be able to move there down the road.

What kind of crowd boost do we expect given the BFT Foundation promotion?

I'm not optimistic. I fear that the poor, fan-displeasing performance against Sac State will keep a lot of people away.

I agree. The student section was packed and loud against Weber State, still pretty packed but not as loud against Sac State (and they all left early), and I think that's going to keep a lot of students from coming back...when we finally were starting to get a real student section going!
