NAU/SDSU

I'm torn. I obviously want whichever team is weaker to win, but I'm not sure which one that is. Both teams seem to be fairly equal. On the one hand, it'd be cool to host and beat NAU and go 9-0 in the Big Sky Conference this year. On the other hand, I'd love to see is beat up on SDSU to shut up all the MVFC homers.

Whoever it ends up being, I'm sure the team will be ready to go. :thumb:

I'm rooting for 6 overtimes, several injuries (minor, but requiring at least a week of recovery), and a few ejections. Beyond that, I don't care.

In all seriousness, go NAU. I suspect they'll win, but this is as close to a toss-up game as there is in the first round. It also features probably the two best teams involved in the first round playing one another, meaning we'll likely have the best team to come out of the first round coming to Cheney next week.

I haven't seen South Dakota play this year at all, but I did see NAU stomp Montana on Roots sports. Although I'm not really sold on Montana being a good team, NAU did look really good in that game.

I am also torn. On the one hand I'd like NAU to win, because that means the depth in the BSC is stronger than the MVFC, however this might be the only playoff game I can attend, so I want to see us play a team we haven't played before, therefore SDSU. Plus, their RB Zenner is a beast (not saying that Bauman isn't, but I've seen him play, on TV at least). As long as we thrash the winner in Cheney next week, I who that is doesn't really matter. :thumb:

Have watched both teams. They seem similar, SDSU is better offensively, but NAU is luckier.. I know there isn't a stat for "luck" but we have all seen teams that live a bit of charmed life. NAU has lived by the turnover. NAU win's at home then their luck runs out and EWU stomps them senseless on Dec 7th and let's everyone know EWU owns the BSC. Macho way to set tone for the 2014 campaign. One additional point; altitude does matter and NAU has a big edge there.

BTW... Screw The Griz fans and all the proglodyte East Coast poster's on that championshipsubdivision board. What a bunch of ponce's. These "dudes" are truly in touch with their feminine sides.

Maybe both defenses are playing really well, but right now I don't see either of these offenses being able to keep up with Eastern. :coffee:

+1,000 Nice running backs, poor QB play, one trick offenses, decent defense adds up to big day for EWU.

Apparently NAU's head coach had a "necessary back surgery" and is out for the game. That's all I could find.

SDSU Zenner is really good 233 yards rushing with a qtr to go

Yep, as good as advertised. That said, boy are they one-dimensional. If we get a up a couple scores early it's going to be hard for them to try and play catch-up running the ball 60 times.

Jeez, NAU crapped themselves in an epic manner. I think South Dakota State is pretty good, but it's hard to tell based on NAU's no-show. I don't understand how they beat Montana and went 9-2. Hell, they can't even throw straight passes to open receivers. Bauman looked very human; I'd rate him well below DJ Adams. More importantly, he wasn't nearly as good as Zenner who has that tough-guy aspect to his game where he just keeps banging away.

It would have been really nice to see NAU put up a solid effort and at least force SDSU to play a full 60 minute game. Hell, they may as well have had a bye week.

Very poor effort from NAU. From watching a few of their games this season, I had a feeling that they wouldn't hang around much in this game unless they got some sort of passing game going early on. It probably didn't help that they didn't have their head coach out there and didn't have their QB in the second half, but SDSU looked like a better team.
