NAU vs Portland St- A game for the ages

All I can say is WOW!! What a heartbreaking game. What an emotional rollercoaster. Congrats to both teams for a fantastic show for the 3 or 4 fans watching live at the Walkup Sky Dome and for those of us watching over the internet. NAU played PSU tough even though PSU did not play particularly well in the first half. I would have LOVED a win, this loss hurts, but it only shows that the young team is playing well and is gaining confidence. Congrats to the older and more experienced PSU team. They deserved the win. Dominguez and Waters played their butts out, Specially Waters. I have never seen a performance like Water's in big sky play...ever. What a stud!!!

Hopefully the guys learned from this loss and will only motivate them to push their game to a new level. Congrats NAU for a game well played despite the loss :x .

Go Lumberjacks!!!

Hey, King.

Good to see someone's still supporting this team. I continue to have faith in this young team.

I attended the game in Flagstaff last Friday vs. EWU. NAU played with fire and brought some of the best defense I've seen under Adras. I listened to yesterday's game on and off while rock climbing in Tempe with family. Lots of obscenities screamed at the car radio but .....wow.....heartbreaking and definitely fun from a fan's point of view. No shame for the team in losing a game like that versus a very good PSU team. Build on it and go from there.

The upcoming Montana roadtrip traditionally is one of the toughest in conference but both UM and MSU have proven to be talented but completely inconsistent. Both games are win-able.

The key will be carrying this intensity on the road and not getting down after a tough loss.

I get back to Montana on Thursday and, weather and highway conditions permitting, hope to attend Thursday's game at UM and Saturday's game at MSU.

I remember Harold Arceneaux having some killer games while at WSU and Rodney Stuckey certainly lived up to his billing while at EWU but Waters was pure clutch last night. Portland State has something really good going. Being the biggest city in the conference, I'm going out on a limb and saying it should be easier for them to recruit higher level recruits if they keep this up. The Viking's success is good for the conference as a whole but one wonders how long they will be able to hold onto Coach Bone. It's easy to pass up a "down" Oregon State program.....other opportunities maybe not so much. Even though I'm tired of em beating the Lumberjacks, I hope he stays.

Go Jacks!

What a great game by both teams. Neither team would give in. PSU was fortunate to pull that one out. I look for NAU to win a lot of conference games this year.

I agree that teams will come after Bone. The one thing is he really wants to stay in the Pacific Northwest because of his family. That is the big reason PSU was able to get him. If another DI job came open in the NW and he was offered, I think it would be hard for PSU to keep him. He may rethink staying in the NW if a really good job was offered him. But I can't see him going to just any other DI job.

Hey the Big Sky is now posting highlight packages of the Altitude Big Sky Games of the Week.

You can find them in two places;

1. At bigskyconf.com - there is no archive there yet (I stress yet) so you'll get to see the most recent highlights.

2. Or at the Big Sky Conference page on Facebook - there is an archive here so if you have missed a game you can get caught up. (You don't need a Facebook account to view this page either) http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Big-Sky-Conference/44764868904?ref=nf
