NAU

Rumor has it that Kate has been suspended for the last two games because of an argument she had with the all-knowing Murrell in Montana. I thought Keaton was also suspended and that she was told she will never start again but she did play against NAU. When is Murrell going to be suspended for her conduct?

Suspended for what? I obviously don't know anything about PSU's behind the scenes stuff, but why in the world would a coach get punished for suspending a player because that player virulently argued with them? You can't have players getting into fights with coaches.

Lanz is talented & has a triple-double, but her shooting % and turnover numbers on the year suck. Whether she plays well or not may not be enough for PSU, however, given the rumors that Misa is done for the year.

Just my thoughts as someone who watches Big Sky basketball…

emotional coaching...and the trend continues. Pattern with thiscoach. But there are always two sides and we know neither so hard to really comment except to say this feels like old patterns re-emrging.

Misa? what happened there?

"Misa? what happened there?"

Misa is out INJURED, apparently hurt her knee again. Instead of trolling these boards, I strongly urge you to attend the weekly coaches lunches at Spaghetti Factory. Indeed, Coach Murrell was there today and WITH her featured "player of the week", Misa.

"Trolling"?
If you want to know what is going on at PSU, talk to the players and their parents. You will learn a lot more than attending a presentation of the coaches.

Many of the players say they do not like the coach. She is very thinned skinned. She has a history of holding grudges and lashing out at players personally and in the media when the team loses. Finally, there are other rumors that I will not address because of their personal nature that have upset some of the players.

It is amazing how wrong you "guessers" are in your posts. There is no truth to these rumors that Lantz has trouble with the coach. I am fiends with the Lantz's and they think the world of coach Murrell. Get your story straight before posting rumors. Murrell is helping these ladies grow and mature beyond Basketball.

I do remember hearing one player called out on the radio for discipline which I thought was unusual...I think a lot of players in many programs are surprised when they see the "real" coach once the recruitment honeymoon is over. I also do know that some coaches handle losses better than others, some really personalize things while others seem better equipped to distance themselves from the play of their team. It's hard to hear that things are not going well for the team because that generally spirals down. Sad for everyone.

It is interesting that someone who claims to know the Lanz family so well can't even spell their name correctly. It is Lanz not Lantz. Finally, was he aware that Kate has been suspended for having words with Murrell after the team was shellacked by Montana? Kate has never has any problems with any of her coaches before and she is, if anything, not a loose cannon.

Foscar...none of my posts are untrue don't generalize and then focus your attack on the one who hasn't made any untrue statements.

The Foscar guy or lady makes more excuses than the CIA. Another loss to a little school in Cedar City, Utah wherein the T-Birds (meaning the car not the wine..this is Mormon country) score 48 of 69 points in the paint which was, in part, because they shot 7% from the 3 point line. The game was, however, competitive and Lanz (without the t) was back on the lineup although she did not start. It was noted, as I related earlier, the Lanz missed two games because of a violation of team rules. Of course, this "violation" has been previously overlooked for years for good reason.

I thought they might have pulled it out made a good run at the end too little too late ....don't get the cryptic message about violation of team rules...being overlooked for years.???

As has been said time and time again..this team needs to practice interior defense till the cows come home. With respect to the violation, the same thing has been going on for years without any suspensions. It would help if the team would recruit centers like Montana does. Doesn't anyone have a niece who is tall and plays BB? Centers don't count for much in the PSU offense but they need someone who can block shots, intimidate in the paint and rebound. Misa could rebound but was simply too small to control the paint on defense.
