Two 20 point victories this week, over EWU and PSU. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do at UNC on Thursday.

NAU is extremely well coached and has gotten a good mixture of talent coming from Fresh, JC's, and DI Transfers. NAU is back...

NAU is definitely back! That is good. It brings back a rivalry that we haven't had for a while. Back in the day, it was as big a rivalry as ISU, it's just been a while in basketball. Flagstaff is one of my favorite Big Sky towns.

I will preface this all by saying I'm truly excited for the rest of this Big Sky basketball regular season.

I am holding off on my judgement of this NAU team as of yet. They have won where they haven't been able to in years (Missoula), won close games, won blow outs, nearly beaten a few of the "big boys" (USC and Fresno State) and was even up on the number one team in the nation, U of A, at one point (I have pictures to prove it: 9-7....we don't need to talk about the rest of the game, though).

But...7 home and 7 road games remain. No road trip is easy. Two games vs. each of the top two teams, Weber State and UNC, remain.

The WSU-NAU game at the end of last season was a good choice on my part to drive up for. Wild finish and close, well played game with both teams playing their hearts out. That's what was so fun about WSU's-NAU's rivalry dating back to the late 90's and mid 00's.

I need to get my arse up to Ogden for a game one of these years.

NAU is the only opposing team in this conference I have never said at one point in my life "I hate those guys". Cant say the same for the rest of them. I have always liked NAU and am glad to see them playing very well and I hope it continues.

Thanks, Wildcat. I'd have to guess it's harder to hate an online NAU fan base that consists of but a handful of people. NAU hasn't had many basketball players to my memory (started following in the early 90s) that went out of their way to aggravate opposing players/crowds. Adras and Murphy rant on the sideline but also seem to give credit where it is due to opposing teams. I do know that Griz fans don't like our football fans.

Even though WSU hoops have torn my still beating heart out on an occasion or two, I wish WSU fans no ill will. Had a good time sitting with a few of your fans in Portland for the Big Sky tourney in 2008. THat made my decision to catch a game @the Dee one of these days.

When the Jacks were good, one of our own was the coach. So we really couldn't hate you then. Get good again and maybe I can start hating you guys.
