First game without Senglin. It's going to be interesting to see who Rahe sends out there tonight!
Geez..... This is painful! Hill needs to accept that football scholarship. He's not a very good basketball player.

One thing was very, very, very evident to me was that Joel is way more comfortable playing along side of a bigger big than he is being the biggest big in the game. Hill played a lot at the 3 and I thought he did well defensively there and made some nice plays in the second half. Without Senglin, our guard play suffered quite a bit. Golden proved that he is not a point guard. The game flowed much better when Hunter was at the point. I thought that Hajek had a great game and that the Hajek/Bolomboy combination is the best we have had all year. If we just had the guard play to go along with it, we win that game. :twocents:

I don't think I've ever seen a WSU game with such dismal guard play before. Missing Senglin is going to be a tough adjustment. We didn't have a single basket from any of our guards until Gittens' uncontested, garbage-time layup with 17 seconds left in the game. When your starting center has the most 3-point attempts in a game, something is seriously broken.

I saw this post and thought it was very cruel, then I saw HQ's tweets that he had a great game and I was confused! I then saw the game this morning and I don't know what to think. Yes he scored off some dunks, but the turnovers, stumbling, bad passes and stupid foul on a 3 at the end of the game was excruciating. What with this kid? Why isn't he in there helping Joel rebound?

I really wish he would stop the chest pounding and screaming after he makes a play....... Looks foolish when you're losing. He's a great athlete...... Do we have the coaches to help him become a better basketball player?

We used to have one. But Beckner's gone, now. And I'm not sure I agree with you on the chest pounding. We were rallying, and for once, our bigs were playing with some energy, feeding off the crowd. Can't fault Hill for getting into it.

Well...the Cats definitely played the game I thought they would. It is extremely evident who the point guard needs to be. To bad he isn't the greatest scorer. We desperately need Hayden to find himself. He is a solid floor general but we need some offensive production from him. Loved when he broke Dixons legs with his wicked cross over. That was sick!

Next, Bolomboy is so much better playing the 4. Our bigs weren't the problem yesterday. It was our guard play. Hajek is good for 20-25 min. He gives the Cats such an interesting dynamic, which has virtually been wasted all season. He should have been starting. Hill at the 3 seems, at least yesterday, like a better fit. He just isn't a very good player at the 4. He seems lost or worse, disinterested. To me he was moving far better. He had a good game. Now he needs to become more consistent. Gittens just had a lousy shooting night. Everything else he was great. Getting Richardson back will help our offense. But will it translate into wins?

I hate to be a downer, but Gittins is an ineffective shooter inside the 3-point arc. He has zero touch, and plays sloppy, selfish basketball when trying to get to the rim. I'd venture to say even worse so than Wheelwright was. Those stupid little teardrops just don't fall.
