Broke the slide and got win #20. Not sure how much of an achievement 20 wins is since 12-13 should mean a mediocre conference finish. Add three cupcakes and that pretty much sets a floor at 15-16 win win. You could probably add at least 1-2 more wins with mid major tournaments.

Hope they can beat SUU at home to finish up…not expecting any thing past two games in Boise.

I am left confused about this team.
Jeckle and Hyde. Great one day, struggle the next.
Looks like a 2 or 3 seed in the tournament (depending upon the game Saturday).
Possibly play Portland St - Not even sure they win the opening game if they don’t show up. It’s a mental thing right now 🧠

I don’t follow hoops as closely as many here but whenever I read Rahe’s quotes in the postgame presser I just shake my head. He has a knack for making excuses then immediately saying he doesn’t make excuses. The weakness of the mindset jumps off the page. No wonder his teams always crumble under pressure.

“We had good energy today,” WSU head coach Randy Rahe said. “You can make excuses, you lose a tough game (Thursday) and have to get up at 5 in the morning. We’re not into excuses and I thought our guys responded really well.

We played six in (13 days), against four of the top teams in our league, and that’s tough duty,” Rahe said. “They did a hell of a job getting through it, they just didn’t have it tonight.”

“Montana State played great … they were fresh, I think everyone saw what our team looked like tonight,” WSU head coach Randy Rahe said. “The schedule obviously caught up to us a little tonight.

Randy Rahe: We’re not into excuses but I bring them up all the time anyways!

"We had tired legs and bad luck 5 of the last 7 conference games." said Rahe. "But next year I plan to bring in 3 or 4 more 5th year senior transfers to replace this years 3 stars who could only stand me for one year. They'll have a great non-conference record and I ultimately expect us to win the Big Sky Conference Warm Up Line title for the 15th consecutive year." he added.

It is my opinion that TD is, hands down, the 'Coach of the Year' in the BSC. He has worked his tail off to take a team that was destined to finish winless, and in last place, and coached them up to a 5th place finish. My hat is off to him and UM for hiring such a fine coach. They should construct a statue of him riding a big black bear and keep it at the BSC headquarters for other coaches to admire.

???????

Have you lost it Olds? I don't believe anyone, anywhere expected UM to finish winless or in last place.....They finished 6th last year with the youngest team in the conference, why would anyone think they would fall to last? Riley at EWU or Coburn at PSU have done damn good jobs with less coming into the season but COY is probably going to be Sprinkle....

Oldrunner knows who's not going to be mentioned in the COY discussion.....again!! For some reason he thinks I think Decuire is a candidate which he's not this year. But a better candidate than one...again, Olds knows who that is!

it was nice to see any radio caller mitch strohman get honored on senior night. this is his 25th season with the jacks. he is the best voice in the sky.

Olds is one sharp dude……. Was able to push the conversation off track before posters started talking about why Rahe isn’t in the conversation and just how poorly he led the team this season. The conversation started with the realization that Rahe is king of the excuses!
Olds just came up with an insane argument to divert the flow of the conversation! Brilliant!

Thanks Brick. I do my best.

I think I've said this before, But I have personally known every WSU basketball coach since Phil Johnson. I've liked them all. Every one of them had their strengths and weaknesses. I could go into just what those were, but it is really irrelevant. We can all pick out the weaknesses and harp on them, it doesn't change a thing. I just try hard to enjoy the process, the game, and the young men playing it.

There is not a perfect coach, a perfect player, or a perfect ref. Perfection is actually quite boring.

Trust me on this one, if there was a potion that made players hit all their shots, get all the rebounds, and always play lockdown D, coaches would clamor for it. Of course, they wouldn't want any other coaches to have it.

Agreed. Mitch has fun calling the games and it makes it fun to watch. THREE SHOT BANG! Love it.
