Really great news!! Joel was invited to the NBA Combine. Only 70 players throughout the nation are invited. This is a huge opportunity for him. I think he will end up impressing while there.

Nice to know our local media is keeping up on what is happening.

As many invites for Wildcats as Utes and Cougs combined. Didn't Loveridge go to PAC-12 Utah because it supposedly gave him the best chance to make it to the NBA? Funny, didn't see him on the list. On a related note, as many TBirds were drafted in the NFL draft as Utes and Cougs combined.

FYI....Davion Berry has been invited to the D-league elite camp....

Sleepers to watch in the 5-on-5: Weber State's Joel Bolomboy & New Mexico State's Pascal Siakam Both could end up in 1st round after Combine

Purdue's Caleb Swanigan couldn't believe what he saw.

Taking a post entry pass, Weber State's Joel Bolomboy spun baseline past Kentucky's Marcus Lee. He jumped, and realized at the last second his shot was going to be blocked. So Bolomboy adjusted in midair, taking the ball underneath the rim and dunking it on the other side.

As the 6-foot-10 Bolomboy floated back down to the floor, those in attendance at the Multiquest Sports Complex gasped at the most spectacular play of Thursday's NBA pre-draft combine.

"I still don't know how he dunked it," Swanigan said.

Faced with the task of making a name for himself, Bolomboy turned heads the only way he knows how on Thursday: With his athleticism, his rebounding and his ability to make hustle plays. The senior made his move over and around Lee, who's been one of the more recognizable names in college basketball the past few years.

Yes sir!

Shuttle Run: 5th
3/4 Sprint: 5th
Standing Vert: 2nd
Max Vert: 5th
Bench Press: 1st

CBSSports Winners & Losers

Winners:
Joel Bolomboy | PF | Weber State

Bolomboy opened eyes in athletic testing, scoring a 40.5-inch vertical leap, the top lane agility score and one of the top sprint scores. Compared to size, there is likely no one who did better athletically this week than the big man who came in at 6-9, nearly 225 pounds. Again, while NBA teams don't necessarily go crazy over that stuff, it certainly will get him a closer look.

Bolomboy was OK in the games, showing the ability to hit shots from distance as well as control the glass. His instincts and basketball sense remain raw. He's not the quickest decision maker with the ball, and seems to lack some rotation awareness on defense. Bolomboy still likely walked out of this event with slightly more looks from teams because of that athleticism.

Winners

Joel Bolomboy Weber State

Bolomboy wins the award for most athletic player after the combine testing. Bolomboy's lane agility time was the fastest of any player in this year's combine at 10.26. Read that again! Incredible that his time was better than all of the guards that participated. His shuttle and 3/4 sprint were also on par with the guards. His explosiveness is also very impressive. Regardless if you take a few inches off his 40.5 vertical, that is extremely explosive for a bigman. Bolomboy had numerous jaw dropping highlights this year, and his athleticism testing re-enforced that he is an elite level athlete.

Here is another article with him, he was listed with about 10 other players:
http://espn.go.com/nba/insider/story/_/id/15610963/chad-ford-workout-confidential-brandon-ingram-jamal-murray-thon-maker-2016-nba-draft

Joel Bolomboy, PF, Sr., Weber State

Bolomboy was one of the real standouts at the combine, where he tested as arguably the most athletic prospect overall. Bolomboy's appeal should be clear when you combine that with an elite motor, huge wingspan and humble demeanor making him unafraid to do the dirty work.

Of all the prospects in the Chicago workout, Bolomboy was the one who impressed me the most -- and it wasn't his athleticism or motor. It was his shooting, believe it or not.

While he doesn't have the prettiest stroke I've ever seen, it goes in at a surprisingly high rate. He's confident stepping away from the basket now, and while NBA teams won't primarily use him that way, his emerging offensive game should give him a real shot at being a late-first-round draft pick.

First of all... I want to be Chad Ford.

Lives in Hawaii as professor of Conflict Resolution at BYU-H. Travels the world promoting peaceful resolutions to global conflicts, stopping by international B-Ball games to scout players. ESPN bought out his company when it created their "insider" service (ka-ching) with Ford still maintaining his role and being a huge draw for his analysis of the NBA draft. When it comes to inventing ideal lifestyles... I want to be Chad Ford.

This is high praise indeed from an observer that often gets called "guru" when it comes to this stuff. Thank you very much for sharing!

Since I've established Chad Ford is hero material for me, I thought I share this write up in the DesNews. Be warned, it's long...

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865656589/Force-for-good-Chad-Ford-teaches-peace-building-to-BYU-Hawaii-students-while-covering-NBA-draft.html

Really anxious to see where Bolomboy goes. Ford's analysis was so positive I've been expecting to see him maybe get bumped into the late first round. But there are so many international players now, who knows. Seems to be mostly in the 40 to 50 range in rankings I've seen.

I wonder if Joel has a promise from Phoenix at 28. His agent has been really picky about workouts lately and things have gone pretty quiet. Hopefully optimistic.
