NCAA Banner

This article raises a question, where is our banner on display? And who's in charge at the NCAA mail room? Oops!

Wouldn't surprise me if it is not sitting some closet somewhere on campus. It has shocked me at how horribly this opportunity has been handled. Why has the NC trophy sitting in a trophy case where hardly anyone sees it. Why not parade it out before every home game in 2011? Have the trophy sitting at the main entrance before every game. Have it sitting in the entry way before every bball game of 2011. There were soooo many opportunities to get some positive mileage out of this great accomplishment. Nooo it sits in a locked trophy case that is seldom seen by the public.
Wasted opportunity, maybe next years NC trophy will get the exposure it deserves.

But NDSU plays in a dome where you can hang banners. It says "2010 Nation Champions" on the front of press box which looks cooler than a lame plastic banner. The real issue is what to do when we run out of room to put up championship years on the front of the press box. I do agree that putting the trophy in the phase doesn't showcase it well.

Hopefully there is a 'Hall of Champions' or something similar in the new grandstands, football operations, etc building under Project Gateway, where we can showcase all of EWU's Hall of Fame and awards.

The National Championship trophies are down in the PHASE, outside of the FB coaches offices, in the trophy cases, probably where 20,000 people (including students) pass by each quarter to use the PHASE. We just don't have a secure location outside for the football trophies to sit at the stadium at this point. As much as I would love them to sit in my ticket office because of fan traffic, there are often times where it might be left alone with the door unlocked by accident and then we could have one broken or missing.

Well darn I guess if that happened we'd have to go out and win another one

Hey ticketman, my point was not where the trophy sits on a regular basis but that it ALWAYS sits in the same place. Take it out on game days and parade it around like you are proud to be the National Champion. There may be 20k people walk past it in a quarter. Is that 20k people or trips? Is it 1,000 people 20 times in the quarter? At a game there is a whole different set of eyes that do not make it into the FB offices. We could only be the current National Champs for one year. I still believe, opportunity lost!
