Here we go.

Member schools of the NCAA voted to essentially decentralize control of athletics. Each of the 3 divisions will set their own standards, and conferences will have more power. And the P5 schools will definitely have the most power.

A lot of D-1 discussions will probably center around athlete compensation. Athletes won’t officially be paid employees (at least per what the NCAA legislation says; the courts will probably have something to say about that), but the divisions are tasked to have rules ready to go by August. That’ll be very interesting.

A lot of the remaining discussion with D-1 might be a realignment giving football separate emphasis. All sorts or proposals are out there. The South Dakota State AD suggested a level of bigger FCS schools and lesser G-5 schools their own level, with a 70 scholarship limit. https://www.argusleader.com/story/sports/college/2022/01/08/fcs-college-football-ndsu-dominating-others-leaving-whats-future-league-usd-sdsu-ndsu-ncaa-analysis/9110961002/

The, um, fun begins.
