NCAA Tourney

I love it!!

That is a great match up in a lot of ways.

Close to home, lower in altitude, and not a totally invincible group. I think we will show well.

Coach Randy Rahe makes a BOLD prediction for Fri.'s game: I'll guarantee the WILDCATS will win!!!
(Didn't specify which brand.) GO WEBER STATE WILDCATS!! GOOD LUCK!!

Well, called it, just as a 2-15, not 1-16  I'm hoping the UCLA game pays off for Weber. I don't have any delusions that this years Weber team is the first 16 to get it done but I like their chances to not get run out of the building. Weber didn't do too bad at UCLA and several players have come a long way since that point in the season (i.e. Senglin, Hill, Gittens). Tres and Weber played great Saturday and should benefit from that confidence builder. Overall, they are playing much better than pre-conference; combine that with the momentum and good state of mind and I really like Weber's chances of a respectable showing. Way to get that BSC monkey off your backs, good luck in San Diego, and GO WEBER!

This is a great opportunity. With nothing to lose, we can play with reckless abandon and go for the upset. A No. 16-seed upset has never happened, but I quote Russell Wilson when I say "Why not us?"

I'm looking forward to this game. Can we be the first #16 to upset a #1? I have my doubts but I've tried to not count the 'Cats out all season. There's a poll on KSL.com that asks that question. Right now the results are 57% - NO and 43% - Deluded. But I think we should all weigh in. Jon Oglesby has been the only Salt Lake valley reporter to give us fair coverage ALL SEASON. (Roy, notice I didn't include Ogden in that.) Check out his write-up about the tourney seeding. It will help KSL know that we want the coverage of the 'Cats to be equitable as with the other D1 programs in the state.

I think it's worth noting that Jon Oglesby is employed full-time by Weber State, and writes for KSL on the side. That might explain some of it. Even so, he's done a nice job. :thumb:

I don't think either job pays him enough, but he's able to use his media skill-set to properly report on Wildcat Athletics where Salt Lake has effectively snubbed the NCAA Tourney Team in the past.

Who the F does that Jon Oglesby think he is?

On another note...well, interesting pick. Doesn't look good. No matter, I'm going to say this now, and yes, I am a complete homer (that is my disclaimer); WEBER WILL WIN THIS GAME!

The Weber State Wildcats are going to make history and be the first #16 seed to win against a #1.

This was ESPN's home page this morning. Is the cursor on their bracket graphic a bit of foreshadowing? (No, that's not my mouse/cursor) I sure hope so. :thumb:

Vegas opened the odds at -14.5 for Arizona. It quickly jumped up to -20 for the Wildcats. I was looking at Number Fire a simulation betting site and it had Weber State losing by about 10 points.
