Fargo, ND (Sports Network)
North Dakota State University has given head football coach Craig Bohl a five-year contract extension with a two-year roll over starting in 2016, director of athletics Gene Taylor announced Wednesday.
With a 61-30 record through eight seasons, Bohl is second all-time in wins at North Dakota State behind Ron Ehrhardt. Under Bohl, the Bison are 9-8 against nationally ranked FCS teams and 4-4 against FBS teams over the past five seasons. Last season, they qualified for the FCS playoffs for the first time, winning two games.
Taylor said the base salary of Bohl's contract is $196,668 beginning July 1. The contract includes incentives if North Dakota State wins the Missouri Valley Football Conference championship ($10,000) or achieves FCS playoff home ($5,000) and away ($2,500) games, an FCS runner-up finish ($10,000) or an FCS championship ($15,000).
