Need Gentle Spotlight at Luncheons

I realize we're on a rather tight budget, but I think this is something we can manage. When the coach or other featured speaker is at the podium, we who are at the luncheon see only a shadowy figure standing there. This kind of makes the speaker seem obscure, as if we are having some kind of clandestine meeting in which we feature our speakers in only dimly-lit obscurity. Rather, I think we need to highlight their media eminence and emerging local celebrity.

I wonder if the management folks at the Old Spaghetti Factory have, or if we could provide, a portable, attachable, overhead spotlight to highlight our featured speakers during these luncheon meetings. It may seem almost trivial, but I believe the effect would be a very good one.

No harsh lighting, but enhanced lighting. Might be interesting to experiment with green lighting -- green being our main school color and this is also the color of the room in which performers wait as it is apparently soothing to the nerves. Good soothing therapy for our speakers after their week-end battles. We could call this the "Lime Light."
