Nevada football

I know very little about Nevada but have heard their OC is a student of the "air raid" offense and suspect our secondary had best be prepared for the air being filled with footballs.

One should keep in mind that when we faced WSU's "air raid" in 2015 we prevailed, but ours was a very different team in a very special year.

Still, although very pessimistic about 2018, I do have some little sliver of hope.

RGJ Columnist Chris Murray has this to say about our Vikings: "College football fall canp is like Major League Baseball spring training: optimism abounds and will remain that way until the first game is played. For Nevada, that first game isn’t too far away. Less than two weeks to be precise, and it should be an easy one against an FCS team – Portland State – that went winless in 2017, although the Wolf Pack showed last year no game can be taken for granted."

Last year, Idaho State's win was the only Big Sky team's victory over a FBS school, and the Bengals really weren't that good (they were better than us but who wasn't). Nevada won't want to risk seeing it again so they will be ready.

Nevada is big up front on defense this season.

I think come September 1st, we'll know where we're at on the offensive line.
