New #1, App State beats Georgia Southern

NDSU will most likely be the new #1.......even though they had an extremely weak non-conference slate, they are undefeated and do have a win over a BCS team. It's probably warranted if they do slide into that spot.

Teams with weak non-conference slates tedn to win championships, just ask anyone from the SEC.

Give credit to NDSU for scheduling a partial schollie and non-schollie FCS school at home to start the season. They got easy wins, stayed healthy, picked up momentum, and have carried it through the season. It's not like they haven't done heavy lifting since then, but that smartly scheduled beginning to the year has paid big dividends.

We chose the opposite path and have seen the opposite result.

we do not have the option of playing those sort of non scholarship teams out west. the CAA teams have been feasting on Patriot, Pioneer MEAC and whatever other weak conferences out there for years now and NDSU has picked up on that formula to their benefit. we would do the same if we could.

Yup. Also doesn't hurt that NDSU averages 18,000 in attendance. It's about the $'s and that's how a UM can get a home and home with APP ST and MSU can get a Drake to occasionally come to town. Underfunded, under-appreciated, small facilities, small fan base, scheduling challenges, perennial power National Champions. We are the ultimate under dog. :thumb:
