Laird was promoted to associate head coach. A quick check back in the archives shows that no coach has held this position going back to at least Jenkins’ last season. I wonder where the money for this came from.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Brandon Laird, who was hired in May of 2011 as an assistant at Sacramento State, was promoted to associate head coach, it was announced today by Hornet head men’s basketball coach Brian Katz.
Laird, who has 11 years of coaching experience under his belt, is also Sacramento State’s recruiting coordinator. He played a large role in this year’s six-man recruiting class which netted four players that were all-state selections and one more than averaged over 22 points per game last season as a prep.

Laird made only $28,500 last year, 2011. Hopefully, he'll get a decent raise. There's some really dedicated coaches out there to say the least.

The announcement of his hire was in May of last year so that amount listed is about half a years worth of salary. There is no reason to believe his new position wouldn't come with more money.
