1. 7 of the 11 teams make the toruney
2. ALL of the tourney games are played at the Host's arena.
3. The winner of the reg season still gets to host the tournament
4. first round has #2 vs #7, #3 vs #6, #4 vs #5 while #1seed has a bye, #1 seed takes on lowest reamining seed in the semi finals and the other two teams play each other.

5. 20 conference games
6. Conf games start Dec 17th
7. Return of the travel partners with Sac as the lone wolf.
8. Division I teams are limited to 29 regular-season games, unless they play in a regular-season tournament. In that case they can play 27 games in addition to the games they play at a tournament. When you add in a BracketBuster game plus a return game from the previous season's BracketBuster weekend, that leaves schools with just seven nonconference games to schedule.

Nothing is finalized of course, but this is what they are stiving for.

Personally, I think they should let the top 8 teams in and get rid of the first round bye.

Yeah...I'm all for the top 8 getting in, but whatever. For the most part, this looks good.

I like it. As a one bid league we should be doing everything to make sure whoever wins conference has the best shot to make the NCAA's. A bye for the 1 seed is deserved, & keeping as many garbage teams out is good. 11 team league with 7 spots if fine. I like them all being played at the host site.

So with 20 conference games, away games at USU, UT Arlington, and Bracketbuster, home games with BYU and UC Irvine, and a tournament, that leaves 2 games to schedule for 2012-13. I assume at least one (if not both :-( ) of those will be a lower division home game.

i was hoping the conf tourney would stay the same with 6 teams in and early rounds not at host site. nobody goes to the first rd games but it is fun for those few of us that want to see all these games.

20 conf games sounds way too high but do i really care about our ooc games? not really. we normally do home and homes with instate teams, play a bunch of road games, then a few home non DI's. so playing more conf games i guess is better. i would love for football to make 10 conf games. would be much better.

our schedule is basically already set from the above posts:

home (14):
10 conf
byu
irvine
non DI
non DI

away (16):
10 conf
usu
tourney
tourney
tourney
busters
busters return

-no utah or uvu
-suu is now a conf game

ooc wont be as good as this yr. can we squeeze in a road "money" game? get rid of one non dI home game, so 13 home games, 17 away games and we go play at a pac 12. but the tourney wont be as bad if its close and some of us can drive to it. so it could be 2 less road games because of neutral play.

I've heard rumours, and they are just that, that Weber is planning on playing in Wyomings 3 game tourny next year. If they do this, then they will get 1 extra game according to NCAA rules. At least, that is what I think happens. Anyway, that extra game could be the money game or maybe an additional 2 game tourny = 31 games, which is allowed because Tournys rules allow crazy things to happen. looooooooooool...

I wouldn't mind 2 Pre-season Tourny's next year, as long as Weber gets a nice payout and gets to face some good teams on neutral courts.

I've heard the Wyoming rumor as well. I know they tried to get into a 3 game tournament this year but couldn't find one that would work.

According to this article, if a team plays in a tournament they can play up to 27 other games (which would equal 30 games if the tournament was 3 games, thus the "extra" game), and if they don't play in a tournament they can play up to 29 games. And I don't think they are allowed to play in more than one tournament.

I would rather see them go on the road for a money game than schedule 2 non d1 home games.

The Wyoming thing would be nice. It would make a good road trip for a lot of us. The annual money game was supposed to be the Mutes, but they don't want to play us untill they have a chance to win. It could take several years for that to materialize. I think that we will try to get a least 15 home games.

Agreed. As a one-bid league, obviously it is very advantageous for multiple reasons for the regular season champion to win the tournament, and this sets it up to make that having the best chance of happening.

One thing was interesting was that it sounds like the coaches were pushing for all 11 teams to make the tourney.... that would certainly be very interesting.

I also like all the games being at one site.
