New Commit John Louden, Jr.

This guy committed yesterday. He is listed as a 6'5 point guard. He had a couple other mid major offers. Not much information on him. I like that he is a big point guard. His highlights look good. I don't get as excited for high school players because its more than likely they transfer after 2 years. Still good pick up for Weber State. Now we just need 3-4 high level transfers.

I hope this is a good pick up but I also have a hard time getting excited about high school players anymore. At the very least its someone to fill one of the 6 spots that's were available. The silence around WSU hoops about recruiting is quite concerning and at this point im hoping they can pull a few (5) rabbits out of the proverbial hat or else its going to be a long damn hoops season.
Old's please give me a legit reason I should be excited at this point about the upcoming basketball campaign.

I understand your concern. I think we all feel a little anxiety over the recruiting process in the era of the portal and the COVID pandemic ripple. Things are taking their due course and we will start to see more commitments over the next few weeks. Yes, we need players, but we need the right players and not just a warm body to fill a seat on the bench. If that is all you are going to get then you might as well leave those seats empty. Let's face it, 8 or 9 players are going to get the majority of time, the 10th and 11th guys will see some time, and the 12th and 13th players will see only garbage time. Often, the last one or two on the bench will RS. It is a very competitive situation. We are only one or two players away from being right back at the top. I feel that the BSC will be more competitive than ever next year.

I love sports and I love WSU. I've loved it even in the really bad years and we haven't had many of those recently. I'm not the one to give you a reason to support our Wildcats because I've never needed a reason. You will make the right choice for you. I'll like you either way. :coffee:

Olds, I never said im considering NOT being a fan. What I said was I am having a hard time finding a reason to get excited about WSU hoops this coming season. I will still go to games and support the team. :twocents:

Louden looks much better than I thought he would. Here is a highlight video of his play at Desert Valley prep:

Here is what I like about this signing, other than his being a really good basketball player: He is keeping our stock of JJs fully loaded. We lose a JJ to the pros and pick up another. I think we need to fill our quota for Davis' again and maybe even start a new must have name, or two. :notworthy:
