• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

"Verbal commits" reports the Bengals have a commitment from Robert Jones, a 6-7 F from Northeastern Juco. He averaged 11 points and 7 rebounds a game while shooting 52 percent from the field, 48 percent from 3, and 80 percent from the FT line. I like those shooting numbers.

Edit: apparently those were freshman numbers. Last year he averaged 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, shot 42 percent from the field, 39 from 3, and 77 from the FT line. Still not bad. Definitely fills a position of need.

ISU announced Jones' signing today. In another recruiting note, Daxton Carr, the 6-6 junior to be at Highland, tweeted yesterday that he has been offered by Utah State. ISU offered him earlier this spring.

Madison Guernsey tweeted that the coaches see a lot of upside...

I found some video of him from his high school in Ohio: he was a skinny kid then, but very athletic. He was blocking shots and dunking, along with hitting some treys. Should be a nice addition.

Jones' hometown newspaper has a nice article on his signing...

That Jones finds himself on a Division I roster is nothing short of miraculous. He underwent two surgeries during a star-crossed senior year, the first to fix a nagging wrist injury and the second to repair a faulty heart valve.

“The program is on the rise,” said Jones, who chose Idaho State over Northern Colorado and Southeast Missouri State. “They expect me to come in and contribute right away. They like my size and my versatility. I still need to work on improving my defense before I get there.”
