New Helmets? Jerseys?

WILDCAT

Active member
Someone mentioned that they heard a rumor that Weber was bringing back the Flying W, and that Smith had said that they were taking the names off of the back of the uniforms.

Would that require them to get new uniforms if they took the names of the backs?

Has anybody heard anything at all? Doesnt seem like a whole lot of information has been coming out about football, so close to spring ball.

Removing the names from the backs of the jerseys and replacing them with Wildcats was reported by the Standard. That's all I have read or heard. The compliance dude said he hadn't heard anything about the Flying W coming back but that a new logo is in the works.

I have a little info. you may be interested in, and that is: The team will have the same design on the purple helmet, no names on the back of the jerseys (but you knew that). Also, Coach Smith does not like the black uniform (jersey and pants), so I have heard it will be a heavy dose of purple with a little bit of gray (hopefully like Kansas St.). Coach Smith is definitely going "old school" as far as the team concept, which I think is great. For example, no one will be allowed to wear the number 1, and each team member must wear a number assigned to the position. In other words, no more DE's wearing #18, etc. To get some conversation going, I have also heard there are a number of players who are unhappy about their individuality being taken away. In other words, their selfish, narssistic personalities. I am looking forward to a much more disciplined team, and I'm pretty sure the majority of the players are also! :thumb:

mmmmmmmmm insteresting

Back to the purple home unis huh??? I really liked the black...but. I hope Weber has solid black pants with a cat paw, cat, or W on the left hip, and then sports purple and white jerseys. What about solid purple helmets without an insignia? Just an idea.

What?!? Solid purple helmets? Thats just wrong!! The Flying W, the Cat Paw, The roaring Wildcat, whatever it may be, the helmets have to have something on them. I do like your idea about having solid black pants. A purple catpaw, outlined in white on the hip of solid black would look pretty neat.

I'm glad they are going back to purple. The black looked OK, I suppose. But black uniforms are a trendy thing that college teams of all sports are doing all over the country and it's simply not original. People say black looks intimidating, but I suppose that effect wears off when EVERYBODY is doing it.

I'd prefer purple as well. But what about the annual blackout game? I hope that continues and I hope they keep black for one game.

I actually like the design of our current uniforms, my only change would be to make the Jersey's purple with black and white stripes, and keep the pants black.

Kinda the TCU look

Except with our current uniform design
