• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Hey guys,

Just moved to Cheney from Lexington, KY. Big UK fan. Looking to get involved with the local team a little more and support the Eagles. Will be lurking around to catch myself up on memes and the overall state of the program.

I have noticed the Gateway Project and I must say I am jealous. Coming from a school that refuses to give any money to the sport that makes $30 million a year, I truly love what this program appears to be doing.

Can't wait to get involved with this board and this program. Thanks for having me

Welcome! Enjoy the board, the team, the area and by all means come out to a game. There's plenty of room for improvement but the good news is that there are plans and motivation to do so.

That's what I like to hear. As I said, that is the biggest problem we have at UK. I was a long time season ticket holder before moving here and there was nothing being done to keep up in the SEC. From what I have seen of the Gateway Project, you all are going to be competing with small FBS teams, facilities wise. That looks better than any FCS stadium I've been to.

Might try to make it to a game in the coming weeks. I'll be the guy in the blue Kentucky gear if anyone sees me, feel free to grab me and talk. Always glad to talk football.

Welcome, Cat!

If you don't mind me asking, what brought you to Cheney? Can you tell us anything about CB Christian Hudnell?

Welcome to the Inland Northwest and the Forums. I'm not new to the area, just new to the Fan Forums. These guys on here do a great job of breaking down FCS football. I've learned a lot from these folks. Hope you can get out to the Inferno. These are exciting times to be an Eagle Fan. If I see you in your Kentucky Blue, I'll say hi. GO EAGS!!

Actually had to look Hudnell up.

Stats say he had one tackle and played special teams one game. My guess is he should contribute based on athletic ability alone. SEC teams (even UK) don't let scrubs on their team in any capacity.

I moved to Cheney with my girlfriend. She is enrolled at the MFA program at EWU.

Very cool. This weekend will be quite busy as it's homecoming, but if you're looking to go to one game in particular, I'd choose Cal Poly in two weeks. They may not be ranked in the top 5/10, but they should be. Should be a great game. If you have any questions about EWU football, Big Sky football, Cheney/Spokane, etc., don't be afraid to post 'em... there are a lot of knowledgeable posters here.

Oh, and Go Eags!

Eastern might represent the biggest value in all of football, in terms of ticket price to quality of on-field product. Tickets are still generally $20, and you get to see a very competitive DI team play in what is arguably the best of the FCS conferences. Even at other Big Sky schools, ticket prices are much higher.

It doesn't take a lot of money to follow the Eagles, especially if you already live in Cheney and traveling to home games isn't necessary. Give a game a shot this weekend; I'll bet you are pleasantly surprised by everything except the stadium (which we're working on improving).

Glad to have you on board... I'd be happy to buy/give you a drink if we ever cross paths.

- Appreciate all the kind words. I definitely plan on checking out the Cal Poly game. I'm almost right at the bottom of the hill on Washington Street so I can walk to Roos.

- I do most of my drinking at the Long Bar on Main if anyone wants to catch a UK/SEC game when the Eags are out of town, drop a post on here.

- Currently getting a feel for Cheney/Spokane and looking for work. So any suggestions on restaurants, bars, jobs, etc. are welcomed.

- Glad to get such a warm reception on here. Look forward to catching live football again. 42 straight UK home games...I'm having withdrawals :pissed:

TransyCat09,
Welcome to Cheney, and our Board. The Marverick Gas Station was hiring, I am sure you have seen it down by the Storage Areas, across the street from Holiday Inn. Hope you are lucky to Hook up on a job there. I retired from EWU Police Department 17 years ago, Aug 31st. I have been a "LONG TIME BACKER" of Eastern Eagles. glad to have you on Board, good luck job hunting.

We will have great Men and Women Basket Ball Teams to follow this year. We have new seatings on the North side of Reese Court. Hope to see at as many functions/games as possible. Again "WELCOME" Vic Wallace
