New logo's on football field?

With the new logo change, and the Big Sky saying the old Big Sky logo MUST be replaced by this year, will Weber change the football field at all this year?

Once again this would be a good opportunity for Weber to make the Field look good, a Wildcat with Claws logo at midfield would look pretty sweet. :winky:

I havent been past the stadium recently. Has there been any work going on up there? New logo, updated restrooms? Anything being done yet?

No changes to the field, took a trip up there after work, didnt notice anything different about the Stadium at all

Does anybody know I'f the athletic department has ever considered adding temporary end zone seating over the track like Eastern, Boise and Nevada have? It could change the whole feel of the stadium even if it was mostly empty at first.

Weber will never "expand" the stadium until they can start filling it now

I agree.

There is no need to have more supply than demand. If we were to sell out for two seasons in a row, then I think the discussion would start. Until then, the topic will never come up in any planning meeting.

For now, the plan is:

1) Improve the infrastructure we've got.
2) Build on the financial base.
3) Build the community and student support.

We've been making progress on all of these fronts, slowly but surely. :thumb:

Anything else is putting the cart before the horse. :coffee:

Okay, so, we all know that the administration is working on improving the stadium area. For a bit, university officials changed directions when an indoor facility became a legitimate possibility. How many FCS programs have indoor facilities? How many DI programs have indoor facilities? Weber is doing pretty well right now improving the fields and facilities. The North Endzone project hasn't been scrapped. It is still being worked on. Anyone have a couple Million to give to the department to help improve the stadium? Even with the North Endzone project in the works, I'm pretty sure that the university doesn't have any plans to add seats. Gotta fill the ones we have first.

I don't think PurpleBlood is asking this because the stadium needs more seating (he can't be that clueless), he's just asking if some temporary seating could be added to the back of the end zones to get fans closer to the field, thus improving both the fan experience and the home field advantage for the team. I think it's a great idea.

Yes, that is what I am saying. It would make for a much more big time football feel. Many schools have done it and it looks a lot better than empty space in the end zone.

Drove by the stadium today, like Talhadfoursteals does everyday, and you'll never guess what I saw...

Nothing, nobody, and the same field as we had last year. They're not going to do anything about the logo this summer. I'm okay with this. I don't want them to raise student fees or ticket prices just to make an unnecessary athletics update. And it is a waste of donor funds to pay for a new logo when we need wins to even get people there to look at it. A picture should be the least of our worries. We should wait for the Big Sky to gripe before we do anything. With the media and coaches polls, hoping they're wrong, our program feels like it's on life support. I know it's not, it just feels like it. Let's focus on the roster and who Sears taps to QB.

Rant, sorry. Kinda went off there. We have more important things to think about right now. I saw this thread and thought :wtf:?

I agree with Kiltman, I think we need to be a bit more worried about our Offensive Line and Defensive Tackles than whether or not their is a new logo on the football field. However, since I'm ranting also, I'm curious. Has anyone heard anything about the north endzone plaza project's new timeline? Is it still on the table? Just kinda curious.

From what I have seen of it, that would really increase the look of our stadium. Didn't it have a $6M price tag?

Timeline for north end zone plaza = dream on --- ('till a deep-pocket donor comes forth with some moolla)! What $ were in the plans for it went to the practice facility at the expanded Ice Sheet, according to the AD, and while he didn't give details, you have to assume no extra windfall dollars are to be found or forthcoming elsewhere (at least not in attendance revenue). :)
