New Rules for 2019/20

Two, fairly major, rules changes for this upcoming season. The three point line will be moving from 20' 9'' to 22', the international distance. Also, the shot clock resets to 20 seconds after an offensive rebound.

My feelings are that both are a move in the right direction. The new three point line will spread the floor a little more and bring the big men back into the game a bit more. Three point shooting percentages might drop a little but that shot will remain a big part of the game. Also, teams just don't need a full 30 seconds after an offensive rebound. It makes the job of the shot clock operator a bit more complex, but it's a good rule to speed up the game.

Our shooters will thrive with the new line. :thumb: :thumb:

Can we get the refs to call 3 seconds once and awhile???? Pretty sure it's still in the book.
I'm with you there. I was hoping they would widen the lane to open that area of the floor as well, but they didn't. I think they are trying to bring the big guys back into the game. It's going to be harder to double down on the post from the wings. It's also going to be harder to get back out on the wings if you do double down and the ball gets thrown back out. The changes will be subtle but real. :coffee:

Truth be told, I'm probably upset about calls that happened in the 1970s.

All it takes is a random flash back and I can relive it as if it happened yesterday. :wall:  :ohno: :ohno:
