New Song

I'm starting a drive to have the "Dudley Do-Right" theme song played by our band at home games. As some of you know Michigan State uses this song at their basketball games and it sounds great. I think it would be appropriate for our football team as I sure we all agree they are the "good guys".

If you agree let Bill Chaves and the band director know your feelings. :D :thumb:

I'd love to see a couple more schollies opened up for the band. Hopefully, they could parcel the schollies into partials and add 10 or more new members. Band is part of the EWU (or any college) experience. And a bigger equals a better band.

LDopaPDX,

I agree, the band is a big part of the game day experience and I'd being willing to put up more money to help make the band scholarships a reality. Hopefully others will agree and we can do this together.

Fully agree. The band is such a great addition to college athletics and dramatically adds to the atmosphere. I would love EWU to add more traditional songs to our gameday set. One of the best experiences I have ever witnessed is Ohio State's band. Script Ohio and Hang on Sloopy during Buckeye games is probably one of the most memorable and best game day traditions other than the actual football. Not to mention the tribute to video games that they performed last week during halftime of the Nebraska game was awesome. If you have not seen it, check it out on YouTube. Anything to enhance the gameday experience to put people in seats should always be considered.

One of the best stories from championship run was the alumni and high school kids filling in during Christmas break and Dave Clark's columns about it and the Championship game.

The Ohio State band puts on quite a performance. If we could get our band to march out on to the field to perform at halftime it would take the game day experience to a new level. We have a very good band and it's a shame that they aren't allowed to put on a performance that is commensurate with their skill.

Hopefully when we have better seating we can move the band to a location where they can be better heard.

I agree, the performance by the substitute band was a great story. My wife and I had an opportunity to speak with Doug Clark when he became one of the band members who traveled to Frisco. He had a great time playing music with the kids and his stories printed in The Spokesman-Review were remarkable.
