Huh?? This one came out of left field. I'm not so sure how excited I am about this one. We got a DII transfer?

Well, I'm thinking The Wizard of Weber knows more a lot more about this than me, so I'm gonna trust him on this one. I will say this though, Davion has a quick release and can move.

An Athletic Wing who can shoot from beyond the arc, drive to the basket, and shoot 80% from the line. A year to improve, and adjust to our system. I like it :thumb:

4 kids from Oakland

don't get too hung up on the DII thing Tal, he did score 17 against Southern Miss

True he did have a some good outings against DI competition.

He was on Lillard's AAU team. With this new player and Otis and Lillard all together we should have great team chemistry. We might have a solid replacement for Bull when he graduates.

The impact of this is more on our summer recruiting than anything else. It puts more emphasis on getting bigs than wings or guards. I think the only wing we would consider now is a 6'7''ish, extreamly athletic type. Other than that, we probably bring in two bigs, if we can get the ones we want. Our guard line is solid for the next 4 years, maybe five. :coffee:

Yes, George. He is DII. You never really know about how or why a kid gets there or to a JC for that matter. There are currently, several players in the NBA who came from DII or directly from a JC. There was obviously a reason why this kid didn't go DI right out of HS. Any guess I might have would be pure speculation. I seem to remember a kid named Quale, who nobody wanted coming out of HS, that turned into a prety good DI player. Then there was the big red head USU had a couple of years ago, same situation. Sometimes kids are just late bloomers. Good players are where you find them. Sometimes they fall into your lap. Its all good. :coffee:

Why is it that you have to come to our board and be a totally prick? Im embarrassed for you really. Im all for some fun rivalry, but do it with class. We get some fans from other teams on here and they are cool and we have some really good discussions. I guess thats what you get from Utah State. I have been to many college football and basketball games all over the place and by far Utah State has the most classless, rude, disrespectful, un sportsmanlike of any I have ever been around. ( Nevada is a close second probably because they are all drunk) I will never go up to Logan again for a game just because of the way I have been treated. Im embarrassed to be in the Spectrum and witness what all goes on. Its not because Im bitter because we lost. I get that Utah State has an amazing basketball program and winning there on the road is almost like hell freezing over, but win with class and treat the other fans with respect. So please if you want to talk basketball and have some good discussion Im all for it, but come on man try and at least not act like some a$$ hole. Ok Im done ranting. Is it November yet? Weber state Weber State GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!!!!!!!

because a player comes from DII doesn't mean they are no good. because a player transfers from DI means almost nothing, no one will argue that one. how many transfers have usu or wsu seen come to our schools that didn't turn out to be the next michael jordan even though they came from a "big" school? probab too many to even discuss.

this is a was a good thread and an exciting thing for this new player i am sure. unfortunately he is going to read this thread and what will he think about both weber and usu fans?

i for one will never question a rahe recruit. when he got hired he signed 10 players in 3 weeks and then won the big sky and got to the big dance that year. the yr before rahe we were in last place. rahe is a good recruiter, a couple of recruits he is personally responsible for that stand out for me are jaycee carroll and damian lillard.

Guys please rest assure Davion is a stud. Before anyone gets too caught up with him transferring from a D2 school I recommend you do little research and look at the facts. This kid’s decision to go D2 was NEVER about his ability on the court. His AAU, High School and College resume are all filled with impressive accolades. The stat that I find most impressive is that he broke his high school league record for free throw attempts and free throws made, then he leads the entire nation in D2 with free throw attempts. That’s proof that Davion has an incredible ability to get to the line.

Highlights of him dropping 20 on Stanford http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbshXMcXJow&feature=channel_video_title" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If I was a Weber fan I'd be more excited about the kid who's transferring from D1 to your program after his mission in a couple of years. Just sayin'.

Yeah Josh Fuller should be a great addition in two years. A wing that'll have four years. Thanks for the tip
George!!

The more I read about Berry the more impressed I become. He is a definite diamond in the rough. With a year to improve, I can see Berry turning some heads once he puts on the Purple and White.

Georgy is just upset cause he knows that Weber State might just be better than USU this next year, and he is having a hard time handling it so he comes on here and trashes us to make himself feel better.

As for Davion, I think he will work out just fine, who cares if he is a DII transfer? If he wasnt good enough to transfer from DII to DI, he wouldnt be. The kid is a legit shooter and he obviously attacks the paint with intensity, and there is nothing wrong with that.

He said in an article that he loved Weber's fanbase and thier devotion to the program. I think we as Great Wildcat fans should get behind this kid and welcome him to this Great Basketball program known as Weber State.
