News on Recruiting

I first want to congratulate the Bengals on a successful season. Made me very proud to be a bengal fan. With all the success you would have to believe recruits are wanting to come to a program that is on the rise. Has anyone heard of any commitments or prospects that ISU is going after? I would like to see a couple of JC transfers on our defensive line and maybe one linebacker. Our offense will be in great shape going into next year. I personally wouldn't mid seeing a JC QB transfer or a drop down. I don't know if Delacesarie has it in him to lead us to the playoffs. Thoughts or comments on any recruits this upcoming season? Any locals?

I know one kid that won't be coming here, and that's FS/RB Josh Labrador of Eagle High School. He did have an offer from ISU and other offers from some other schools were soon to follow. But just recently a coach from Eagle High told me that Josh recently received an academic scholarship offer from Stanford; Josh has really got the smarts like his dad, Congressman Raul Labrador. Now Josh really isn't a Pac-12 caliber type of player, but he'd rather accept an academic scholarship to attend a prestigious school like Stanford than he would accept a football scholarship to attend a school like ISU, according to this coach.

On a side note, I know that VOTB, PBP and Skippy have been posting here for quite some time, and I really do appreciate all that you do for ISU and for the insightful information you provide here.

Coach K says they don't need a drop-down. At least that's what I'm sure I heard.
It would appear that our current QB's on the team will battle for the starting QB position in 2015 and will lead the Bengals to a Big Sky Championship and into the FCS playoffs. Kramer and Bailey recruited and signed Yost and Arias so I have to believe the current QB's on the team that Kramer and Bailey recruited will be the next great QB's at ISU. Keep the faith!

The Bengals are open to all the possibilities.

“It could be a walk-on that’s on our program,” Kramer said. “It could be a full scholarship guy that’s in our program. It could be a transfer that comes into this program. It’s never done until (offensive coordinator) Don Bailey says that’s our guy.”
