Next up: Montana State

I watched their game yesterday, and they look to be much improved over last season. Their new QB, Prukop, appears to be very mobile which could give us problems, and defensively they'll probably be the best team we face in the regular season with the exception being maybe Montana. What do you all think about this matchup?

Is there any organized activities in Bozeman for us Eagle fans? My wife & I will be there all weekend for the game and visiting our MSU student son.

I think we can move the ball.... But I think the offense can move the ball on anyone. The question will be whether or not the D can get stops. I firmly believe Eastern has more talent than anyone in the conference, but we've got to find some sea legs on D.

Good work on making the trip. I was going to fly over and take one of my kids, but Portland to Bozeman was showing $600 per ticket. Absurd. And I'm not wasting airline miles on such a short, overpriced flight.

This will be our 4th game in Bozo. 2 parents weekends & 2 EWU games. We'll take Friday off and drive from Deer Park. We've done it many times the past four years. Travel tip: best rest stop on the way is Big Sky Brewing tap room in Missoula. Four free 4 oz samples.

Check the alumni page, there are some free events. Call Foundation and ask for Leslie she is great and has all the low down. MSU tailgaters are great to fans as long as your not a grizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

This should be a great match up. I also noticed that their QB likes to run quite a bit. I wonder what his durability is going to be like as the season progresses. Their defense was pretty impressive to watch. It did seem like they had quite a few blunders, making this game closer than what it should have been...the kick return that the guy caught and then ran into the end zone for a safety comes to mind, but there were others.

no doubt. We need to get a couple stops and/or some to's and the O will take care of the rest. even the, I think it'll be a close one.

I think it should be a good game, your offense look a little scary, but your defense is suspect. Our offense seems to be coming together and our defense still looks strong. If the Cats can get a few stops and a turnover or 2 I think we will have the edge. More than likely I think this game will depend on who has turnovers, if that is equal then it will probably be determined by special teams.

Do you think the bobcat and griz defenses will be the best the EAGS see this season, or are you just talking in the BSC? Neither of those defenses are as good as the Husky defense.

MSU will be the toughest regular season FCS team we play this year, this should be a good test....

VA has this game circled as his one really bad game as a starter was 2 years ago in Bozeman

That may be true of the atmosphere but not the beer.
Bayern Brewing crafts some of the finest beer I have tasted. http://www.bayernbrewery.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The only rival may be the Augustiner brewery of Munich.

I agree with you, MSU will be the toughest BSC opponent this year. I predicted their QB to be the real deal and he has proven me correct thus far. However, I just don't see them hanging with us offensively, and I think our D's are fairly equal, maybe a SLIGHT edge for MSU. I give us at least a 2 touchdown cuhsion, but I think this will definitely be an exciting game to watch. Looking forward to next Saturday :thumb:

Anybody interested in a caravan to Bozeman with a pit stop in Missoula for lunch?
If we leave the Spokane Valley @ 9am we'd arrive in Missoula @ 1pm Mtn time. An hour for lunch and we arrive in Bozeman 5pm or so.

Maybe I'm way off here, but I think some people on here are way over estimating MSU... Bad D or not.

I think MSU will be the 2nd or 3rd place team in the BSC after watching them play. They owned a decent UCA team this weekend. I don't think we will get rolled by anybody, but in most seasons, we still have a head-scratcher loss. We are going to play a good, pumped up team on their home turf who have something to prove. In 2012, we barely squeaked out of there with some help from them, and a timely pick 6 by Tonani. I predict an exciting game that could come down to the end.

Road trip it ya ninny!

I think we have a potential matchup problem here with Prukop who is not only running well but completing 68% of his passes. Then there's bruising Nevada transfer running back Anthony Knight who has already rushed for 5 touchdowns including 3 last week against UCA. He's a load at 230 lbs.

Watching the UCA game, both teams passed the eyeball test with very solid size and athleticism. This is going to be a big test for us.

That is the equivalent of me saying that I think our offenses are fairly equal, (I don't think that).

MSU has one of the deepest and more experienced defenses that we have had in a long time. Our DL is truly 2 deep with almost no dropoff from the 1's to the 2's, they are rotating early and often and keeping fresh for the hurry up teams. 5 of 6 linebackers on the 2 deep are seniors that have had starting roles at one point or another. The secondary consists of 5 seniors and a highly coveted transfer that has exceeded all of our expectations. D Flowers will probably be the best CB you will see in t the BSC this year, Keeton will also be one of the best CB's you will see in the BSC.

Even with what I feel is a stacked defense, I think it will be a huge challenge to even slow down your Offense.
