Next up UNI

I watched some of the griz vs. UNI game today and noticed a couple things. First, the UNI defense seemed pretty tough although the griz offense was horrible. Second, the UNI offense looked more dismal than the griz offense. The QB for UNI could not hit the broad side of a barn. The running game for UNI was Ok. So, I think the EAGS will be able to move the ball on UNI and should stack the box against the run until that QB can show that he can complete some passes.

They're basically a mirror image of NDSU except the NDSU QB throws the ball better while the UNI QB is a better runner and a tough load to take down.

We are going to absolutely throttle them...uni is decent but we are much better. I think we win by 14+ and it's never real close

We should have a good shot at winning but I don't know about throttle. We'll be starting backups in several positions.

I'm watching the replay and neither Montana nor UNI look that great to me, at least from what I've seen so far.

If I did not know the score it would appear the Panthers should have won. But...
2 turnovers and 1 runback for TD made the difference.

Wow, you're right. UNI destroyed UM in the statbook.

And from what I've read, they should have won by at least 2 scores against the Cyclones but were sloppy in that one too at times.

UNI is very talented up front and a running QB should worry every eagle fan. But he still has to prove he can throw and I haven't seen that yet.

I also don't see a reason why we can't have similar success against them as we did with NDSU.

I remember them being a very solid running team with really good defense. This will be another huge challenge for us so I'm glad we're playing them at home.

Was Bill Brasky in at Quarterback?

Please hang 70 on UNI...

Curious Bobcat, what are you seeing in Bozeman? MSU has looked a little ragged in the first couple of weeks. Can they get it together, or is it a rebuilding year?

What I've seen so far is the return of at least an average defense to Bozeman, but with that our offense has completely left the state. The loss of Dakota is hitting harder than anyone imagined, we thought we could replace him and still field an average offense but that has not been the case.

The new QB Bruggman is going to require a few more games to get into some sort of rhythm, he's really green, frankly a lot more green than was let on during spring ball or fall camp. He's shown flashes of being a good QB, but has yet to put together a good couple of series let alone a full game. If you guys wanted to send West or Hennessey our way we'd much appreciate it! We have a young Fr QB who also has shown some really good stuff, but he really needs a year to adapt and gain some weight, he looks like a HS football player right now, but he's got the stuff to be dangerous in a few years.

We need to find an offensive identity and work, build towards that, right its a mess. The D looks good, and hopefully progresses through the season.

The griz seem pretty high on their D, but their O sucks... pretty mush just like us, but I think they're a paper tiger and you guys will destroy them through the air. Nice showing at NDSU, tough loss, but you guys are headed in the right direction.

Well, I hope the Oregon transfer works out a little better for Prukop than it did for Vernon.

I didn't see any of the MSU game with Bryant, but I would have thought they would have spanked them. I watched most of the second half of the Idaho game and MSU looked really bad.

FWIW, I still hate the thought of Oregon coming into the Big Sky and stealing the best senior QB every year.

What you would have seen during the last half of the Idaho game was Bryant all over again... We had at least 10 opportunities to go ahead against Idaho but couldn't make it happen, We had just as my against Bryant to bury them the first half, but could not move the ball. We had 5 takeaways to Bryants 0 and still barely won... Maybe our Defense can play offense too :ohno:

I hear it may rain...who would that favor?

Let's dance!!

It is early in the season to be wondering this but I have to wonder if this is a must win game already. IMO the goal is to be a top 4 seed and hopefully top two. In order for that to happen is this a MUST WIN game?
