Next years depth chart

I just read in the Standard Examiner that Thompson will not be coming to WSU next year. Rahe released him from his scholarship. So that means we have 2 spots open for next year. This is a tenative look at next years team. I am sure it will change between now and when practice starts in the fall. Let me know if I a missing something.
PG- Mccoy SR, Cottle SO, Lillard FR
SG- Silveira SR, Nance SR , Dent FR
SF- Davis SR, Bullinger FR,
PF- Panos JR, Mahoney FR
C- Morris

I count 11 scholarship players so far for next season. We do have Johnson available too, but I believe he is still a walk on. I figure the other 2 spots should go to JC post players at the PF and C. Agree??? Go Wildcats!!!!!!!

i'd like to see us pick up a shooter unless JP can go back to his shooting from his soph year. but deffenitely we need a C/PF type player

Dent will probably be moved to point guard and Lillard could switch to shooting guard. JP well who knows about that cat, he may just go back to Uraguay to play in the pro leagues there. We have a desperate need for a rebounder.

Coach Rahe told me his best point guard this season is Lillard, which I can only take as next season that the starting pg position is his to lose.

that is sweet. If he already is good enough to start over McCoy, we should have some good guards again next year.

How about:

1- McCoy Sr, , Lillard Fr, Dent Fr
2- Silveira Sr, Nance Sr ,
3- Davis SR, Bullinger FR,
4- JC Transfer, Morris So, Mahoney Fr
5- Panos Jr, JC Transfer

Lillard will probably play both guard spots much like Dez did the last two years, and yeah Lillard would have played a lot of minutes this last year. He can score from pretty much anywhere.

I think Danny Johnson is on scholarship. What about TJ Benson. He should be a sophomore next year. I think JP will be back great next year.

Weber has an excellent guard in Josh Cottle. As a freshmen at UVTech he averaged 10pts against the Cats. However, his strenghts are defense and passing. He very likely is the BVB replacement. McCoy will start...He is a senior and an extremely hard worker. I do believe that Coach will redshirt either Dent or Lillard next fall. I think it was a good move by Weber to release Thompson, he just seemed lazy. I'm not very sure about this, but I was under the impression that Rahe was looking to add 3 players prior to Thompson being release.

According to Coach, Lillard will NOT redshirt, he will play a lot of minutes for us next season. He would have been our best offensive player this last season.

Yeah you got to figure that Lillard will play a ton of mins these next three of four seasons. Here is just a great talent. This is the one kid that Weber gets every five years that can carry a team all the way through the Big Sky Season. I have heard that he is also under six feet tall, but I have not taken the time to look at his "stats", if any one knows what he is about I would like to know. I love the Dent kid, I have seen his stats all year, I think that he will be able to play a great two guard. I know that he is not the right size, but the only teams that comes to mind with real big guards are ISU, because they only have one point gaurd, and NAU, and I do not know who they bring back.

1- McCoy
1 & 2- Lillard, Dent, T.J.B, (TJ is the next G.B.)
2- Nance
3- Davis, J.P
4 & 5- Panos, Morris, Johnson

That is the ten players that I think will get some playing time. If Morris works his tail off, like I have heard that he does, he will be great. That is a true freshman that got a lot of Q.T. and can de a real power house. He has that little baby hook in the key, and a nice Offensive Rebound and put back game, if he gets bigger, and faster watch out.

I think we can all agree our backcourt is looking pretty solid for the next few years I think the key now is to find a tall big, not necessarily a kid that can score but a shot blocker, big rebounder, someone that is alittle rough around the edges that will be able to become a good player, maybe one of SLCC players Papa Samba Guisse (6-9, 210 lbs) or Marc Van Burck (6'11, 255) I don't know how anything about them but we have 3 big-bodied PF-C in Panos, Morris, Mahoney. So it would be nice to have a different body type to bring in off the bench to change the style of the game, a rebounding machine like Valeika.

smjcpa[/color]"]I think that Arnold is going to be a practice squad guy ONLY!

You mean the 2 minutes he played in the tourny was not a sign of things to come... he was a beast in the paint, riping down what 2 rebounds... lol

Hey, if Arnold only gets to play a couple of minuets a game and grabs a couple of rebounds isn't that still contributing?? I never said he was going to be a star player... How many of us on this board can say we played Div I basketball?

Technically that could be a big sky record of rebounds per minutes played. he played only 2 minutes this season and got 2 rebounds.
